Front Plate Mount

Need to mount my front plate on my M-Sport 435i

I want to do it without drilling holes. I ordered a tow hook mounted plate holder, but it covered my PDC. Are there any tow hook mounts that dont cover the PDC?

And are there any other ways to mount the front plate without drilling?

Thanks.

I used the Skene mount on my 2016 435i M Sport. You do have to drill two small holes, but it’s really just self tapping screws on the underside of the bumper so they don’t show. It’s a really good design in my opinion.

This is what use and it works great. Never really liked the look of the tow hook plate.

+1 I also used US Mill Works in the past to mount the front plate without triggering PDC sensors.

Pedalhaus quick release is the beat solution I've found. The mounting location is flexible and movable. Us Millworks requires disassembly to reposition. Pedalhaus only requires loosening of the adjustment screw. Plus it's very easy to install. When you are done with your inspection, just take it off!

One more thing I like about pedalhaus is that it has a curved back which means it creates separation between the plate and the car. US Millworks is flat. You won't be restricted by your bumper contours with the pedalhaus.

US Mill Works! Best quality out there. I've had this for 3 years and no issues.

You can see the gap between the front bumper and tow plate mount.

No you dont. Go without.

Invest in the tow mount and use it only when you have to (ie to get a fix it ticket reversed). Then remove plate again.

Ive lived in New York, Virginia and California and never wear a plate. Ive also never gotten a plate ticket. Even when getting a speeding ticket.

+1 I love mine and it doesn't interfere with PDC at all. Also has a quick release feature.

Why? I haven't had a front license plate in years and I live in Southern California. I haven't been pulled over once.

You're fine in suburban areas but enforcement can be brutal in the city or especially near LAX. You usually won't get pulled over for it. CHP usually won't even ticket you if they pull you over for something else. Meter maids will screw you though.

I park in a school and the school officer comes to check my car everyday to make sure I have the front plate He already gave me 2 tickets. Otherwise i would just leave it off, before this cop harassed me ive never had a problem.

Take the rear plate off and use a sunshade to cover your vin.

I've worked right next to LAX for years and have never had an issue with no plate. I've also lived less than 10 min away from LAX for a number of years without any issues. It's definitely one of those things where there's little reason to wear a plate until you get hassled for the first time, then it's good to explore non-drill options as OP has done. I wouldn't buy my car until the dealership agreed to fill the holes from the previous owner running a front plate.

Sounds like you just need something you can throw on when you park, and pull off easily after (aka quick release). I would go with Pedalhaus as jmg said, or the STO N SHO is great which I actually purchased and never installed/needed in LA.
