Also curious about the AFR. Can you check that out during your dyno run? Last edited by henkherrie; 01-29-2019 at 03:25 AM.. |

Cannot answer q1...
Q2: the trans (tcu) flash is something completely different to the ecu flash. You can get the trans flashed by JR Auto but you have to go to them physically to get it done. Xhp specializes in trans flashes, JR Auto in ecu flashes... Last edited by henkherrie; 01-29-2019 at 04:17 PM.. |

For the trans tune I was using JB4. There wasn't a crazy difference however I did notice smoother shifts and different shift points. Now it is very noticeable in a good way. As mentioned MP was/is currently the only option for trans tune remotely. I chose to wait for the ECU tune since I knew more people were working on them and I liked the look and numbers shown by MG. As far as advantages to using two tuners there would be none.

Very curious to the numbers of the stage 2 and maybe down the line stage 3 ecu tune with JR. I'm one of the next in line for the trans tune and stage 2+ ecu tune with mission and If there's a clear performance advantage with JR and AFRs seem within reason. I might end up doing the same that u did. Time will tell which cream rises to the top or if more players hop in the field. |

This evening I flashed my M140i. All went without problems.
It's cold out here, about 1C so not a lot of grip Flashed map 1, RON91/95 variant. Output according to the sport display is about 370hp/550nm. Waiting for the burble map, curious what a difference that makes. So far so good. Smooth power delivery and quite a lot stronger and faster. |

I flashed tonight. I went straight for stage 2 just to have max butt dyno difference. My car had old software stock, so Jarek had to update that before the initial ecu unlock. My unlock took a bit long (maybe an hour). The flash to stage 2 took the advertised 90 seconds. Its snowing here in PA, so I can't take it for a run yet, but I'm excited to mash the pedal tomorrow.

For all Beta Users who did not flashed/activate your car yet
Our updated MG Flasher ver 1.1.1 today morning available to download has corrected function when MG Flasher detects old software installed in your car it will automatically perform update to the never level. You will be asked to confirm it just before activation/ECU unlock. The software update will be performed followed by ECU unlock at the same time - the whole process is about 1 minute longer.
All previous activations were performed with the newest level software as well. |

Okay, I got my MY18 340i MPPSK 6sp 93oct unlocked yesterday mid-day and have my first impressions to share.
I had a bad cable from bimmergeeks and issues unlocking on Monday. Jarek was instrumental in helping diagnose this. We had multiple emails back and forth, him taking a look at logs, etc. After borrowing a (slower) k+DCan cable from a friend yesterday all was good and I got unlocked, flashed and drove st1, st2, and the custom st2 map with my features (to be available to the end user on MG Flasher release). My thoughts below are on mostly st2 custom. It has been rainy and very cold here, so driving impressions are limited. First, there is much more power down low in the rev range, and power is delivered very smoothly and super strong up towards the higher revs. Full throttle on my snow tires this morning was useless in all 3 low gears. I concentrated on a half throttle run for traction and was SHOCKED at how it pulled. And I am still adapting. The sound is a bit more tuned now, I am definitely hearing more turbo and (maybe) wastegate noises. I love it. Now I need at least some better weather and my summer tires back! Cold start delete is awesome, I love putting it in sport and having the exhaust valves open immediately on startup, they used to take 2 minutes to open. Love the gauge hijacking for power and torque, fun to show friends'. We all know that customer service is KEY in auto tuning. Each setup has many variables that an engine tuner must account for a smooth working end product. Jarek has obviously put in the time to make the flashing process seamless for the end user. But even more than that, his immediate to the point responses on BETA launch are INVALUABLE. My experience couldn't be any better at the moment. Thanks Jarek, I cannot wait for st3! --MW |

This entire review is spot on. The one thing I had forgot to mention was the turbo spool. With my BMS intake i can hear it very predominately on acceleration. Jarek was also very fast to respond to my emails and questions which made me feel comfortable.

I forgot to add that I plan to dyno all 3 (or 4 depending on st3 release timing) OTS maps within about a month or so. I know we all want instant feedback but with it being wintertime it'll be the best I can do. --MW |

Yesterday I flashed a new revision of ST1: The ron 93(US)/98(EU) variant with custom options (vmax delete, cold start delete).
Burble map is not available yet, that comes later when a new version of the flasher app is out. It is snowing here so I can't tell the difference yet really. One thing though, on the (again, very cold) highway I had wheelspin in 5th gear (auto box) Jarek@JRAuto In what scenario do you need to use the adaption reset option? Just finished flashing stage 2 tonight. Will let you know in the morning how it runs on my FBO 440. Wasn’t able to test drive tonight as to not piss off my neighbors. (Downpipe has ridiculous loud cold start and the e93 m3 parked behind the 440i just had test pipes installed so it’s just as loud, sigh.)

We can enable "open flap all the time" in the software. Option will be released along with new update.
