Donor N55 installed on my 2014 435i today. Spun a rod bearing at 91k miles. Wishing for more luck on the "new" motor.

Fitment is ok, quality less, but ok.
Light are just 2 leds on each end so no smooth light distribution in the middle.
Can you still buy the in Belgium? I wished we could

Shame.
I know there was a bit of a quality issue. Nevertheless I would rather go for the OEM ones than for the Chinese. Theirs look pretty bad. Sorry to say so

Why yes. Miami and Indiana are well known as the desert lands.

I have never seen so much dust in and engine bay. It was a serious question, astonishing

Mine are OEM I believe some people had water ingress.

Don't have a great shot of them. Been in for 3 years now and fine.

Not water ingress - the official issue is/was LED function. Some (apparently many) have stopped working after a couple of months. Can't remember if it was the batteries or the LEDs themselves.

That’s because us Yankees are filthy pigs while the other side of the pond is so much cleaner.

Ah interesting, one of the members also had water.

So which do I fall into? I am from the other side of the pond, but live in the US.... actually I clean the engine bay reasonable regularly!

My ///M puddle lights are all cracked interesting enough. I might swap the rears to the front if they're better and put the BMW ones in the rears.

Ordered front rotors few days ago which arrived today. Then while at the home depot earlier picked up a nice digital caliper that was on sale, and when I checked the rotors currently on the car they both read 29.6mm...new ones are 30mm. Talk about doing things backward. I got the car less than 10k miles ago and it seems they changed the rotors and pads when they CPOd it, the pads are still pretty fat too. Of course the rotors are too heavy to justify returning, so I'll keep them until I need new rotors in about 30k miles or so.

Keep them somewhere warm and dry, inside the house if pos. Even with the anti corrosion stuff they put on, they can go rusty after a few months if left in a cold damp garage/cellar

I swapped out the dual colour LEDs in the doors and footwells from white/orange to brighter white/blue LEDs.
The colour in the the door strip is a darker blue than shown in the photo. And the brightness was set to full when I'd taken the photos

Installed a generic MMI box for Android auto and Apple carplay. Quick music hack for better quality sound, whatever app that you use for music, go into settings on that app, and select maximum bit rate, for better quality music.

Another thing I figured out, have to use wired Android auto, phone does wireless, but its kind of buggy. Sometimes it doesn't advance to the next song with Pandora. Wired, no issues, however there is a downside, no more fast phone charging...but I can deal with that. I used to use the snap in adapter, with my old iPhone , yeah, I know, could have just used a USB Apple charging chord, but car already came with the device as it was used. I have enhanced Bluetooth with my car so I previously used 2 phones for the car,, one for just streaming music, and the Android for calls.. Using Android auto for navigation, streaming and calls,, seems to work out fine, I will post if I discover any other issues. Software loaded was this.
