I actually prefer F series M Sport steering wheel over the G series M Sport steering wheel.
I have tried G20 and G30, both with M Sport package and steering wheel doesn't look and feel as good as F series M Sport steering wheel. IMO, F30 M Sport steering wheel is the best steering wheel BMW has ever made (so far) It's so beautiful and feels rly good. |

Because if you already have CC, you have the scroll wheel for + and -
And then having paddles for CC is just not natural, we all know for what paddles are made for and having them in use for something else just makes it pointless and nonsense. Imagine using paddles for volume Up and Down, stupid and pointless, isn't it? Same thing with CC |

Not G20, but a F90 m5 wheel. Essentially the same thing
https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...postcount=3231 This was done in 2018 before the G20 wheel even known |

So back to the original post. Is it possible to fit this G20 steeringwheel in an f30?

Raising an old post but I would also like to find this out. I am actually willing to try it out on my own car. The only reason I would want this wheel is because of the skip buttons available over the F series wheel. Helps alot when you have an android phone and tracks are on random.

Is not possible to make any Gxx wheel to work in an Fxx car with coding only. LIN bus data from steering wheel controls is totally different. Can make a LIN bus converter and translate all data from Gxx controls to Fxx format, but this means an extra custom made module fitted inside wheel under airbag.
My company made such an interface to fit Fxx and Gxx wheel in Exx cars, we also investigated the Gxx wheel to Fxx cars and wanted to build an interface for this but then pandemic started and there is not much demand for such a retrofit so we abandoned the plans.

Hello comrades! If still relevant, I have a LIN bus converter for using buttons from the G series on F cars. As Adrian_CRG said, this is an additional module installed in the steering wheel. So far, the solution only supports the adaptation of buttons in the steering wheel. If the steering wheel does not have shifting pads, heating and vibration functions, this is quite enough for using the G series steering wheel on the F series without these functions. The converter is now in testing for f20 2013 with g05 steering wheel and f30 2014 with g30 steering wheel. Will such a converter be of interest to anyone or is full functionality with vibration and heating important?
