Tried to install JB4 but now my car won't start.

I have a 6 spd F32 428i, Tried to install JB4 but realized it's damn near impossible to route the OBD II cable with the clutch line blocking the way, so I stopped and unplugged everything and now the car doesn't start. Doesn't crank, and all the electronics are out of wack. It tells me to depress the clutch pedal to start the engine, which I've obviously tried. It reset my date and time settings, I'm not sure what else could have possibly happened. I thought that maybe disconnecting the battery messed up the electronics but I don't think that's the case. Any ideas?

i think the best approach to this is to look at everything you've touched
during the installation process....I feel you have not properly connect something
after you took it off during the process

THE JB4 is pretty much dummy proof...all you need to do is to unplug and plug
it's hard to believe it will actually mess up anything

I understand, that was the first thing I did. I unplugged/plugged everything back to how it was originally and I got nothing. I did unplug one cable for the speaker as well as the light on the trim piece you pry off to get to the OBD II but of course I installed those before attempting to start the car.

Curious if you disconnected the battery first. It says to, but I didn't when I installed my JB4.

Did you possibly disturb the sensor connector or wires that detect the clutch pedal is depressed? It is probably in the area you were fishing around in.

same thing happened to me. There is a electric sensor that sits on top of the clutch pedal, you must have accidentally knocked it loose. That's why its telling you to push the clutch, there is no signal from that sensor

BTW if you fix the clutch issue and want to give the JB4 another go, I cut and labeled my OBD2 cable, passed it through the clutch grommet with no issues, and reconnected it with weatheproof quick-connects on the other side.

I, however, have since removed the JB4 and gone with a flash tune which I find MUCH preferable...
