REMOVING REAR AXLE (RWD 335i)

I may have killed my passenger rear axle doing launches. Now it is time to replace and I cant find anything on how to detach the axle from the differential. Does it just pull out once removed from the hub? Or do I need another specialty tool? Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance

You need a specialty tool.

I just did mine - I put a big hose clamp around the fat part of the axle near the diff, and slipped a small, flat right angle pry bar I have to pull nails under it, so the long part is towards the center of the car. Then I took a long pry bar, and wedged it between the little pry bar and the diff, and applied pressure, it slipped right out.
