Midpipe instead of DP for n20 JB4

Hello, currently looking into exhausts to pair with my JB4 (currently on map 1) and think I've settled on AWE touring exhaust with performance midpipe. My only question is if that is a suitable substitute for a downpipe for moving up to Map 2 on my JB4.
Also please feel free to share any knowledge you have on how the n20, AWE exhaust and JB4 all interact together if you have this combo.

Thank you.

Swapping to the AWE midpipe is not a suitable substitute for a downpipe on an N20. The reason you get a catless downpipe is to remove the catalytic converter, which is very restrictive. The only way to do that is by swapping to a catless or high flow catted downpipe. The mid pipe is not restrictive at all on the N20.

Donít downpipes make your car code? And do you have a recommendation for a catted DP? Thanks

A catless downpipe will cause a CEL. Boatloads of threads on this and how to stop the CELs. Whether it be an O2 spacer or flash tune to suppress/clear it, there are plenty of ways around it. As for a catted downpipe (will still cause a CEL), Wagner and EvolutionRacewerks are the most reputable brands that offer catted downpipes for the N20. Don't have any firsthand experience with either, but that is what I'd recommend based off of what I've seen

No problem Just remember that you'll still get a CEL with a catted downpipe. The only real benefit to catted over catless is less smell and not as loud. Effectively the same performance benefits between the two over stock though.
