Sound Coming from Front Axle area when Reversing

While slowly reversing and turning out of a level parking spot, there is a pop/knock that sounds like it's coming from the front axle(s). This issue only happens in reverse after a cold start(25-35 degree F weather) and only when I turn the wheel in reverse. After this sound happens I'm unable to replicate it, I tried parking and backing out again. Anyone know what the issue could be? 328i 81k 2012
