Bluetooth Delay Video Content Solution

I've seen a few threads on the complaints that the Bluetooth connection has an audio delay. So if you're playing video on a mobile device (tablet/phone) the audio is far behind the video making video playback unwatchable. (Note this solution is for video file playback, not streaming content such as Netflix or YouTube)

I play video in the car for my 3 year old and I had to actually use a different Bluetooth adapter into aux because the native Bluetooth connection in the car had such a huge delay. However, I found another solution.

Use the video app VLC Media Player. It is a very popular player that I've used for years on desktop. You can go into settings on VLC and tell it to remember the audio delay settings for each video you set.

When you play a video, you can edit the settings of the video and set an audio time delay in the negative range which will delay the video track by however many milliseconds you set it to. It will then save this setting within the app for that video file so anytime you reopen it, it will play with the same delay setting. This way you can achieve a synchronized audio/video playback.

This is handy as I have about a dozen Disney movies that are re-watched over and over again. Just wanted to post this suggestion in case it helps anyone else.

I've found that if you pause the video then start it again after 5 seconds, the audio delay is improved greatly. This may not work with all apps, but it does with most I've tried on the iPhone.
