based on bmw website -
- Xdrive is 40/60 but can move to 100% to either axle. - tq vectoring http://reviews.cnet.com/2300-10863_7-10007878-5.html now sends more torque to the rear wheels during cornering and has adopted a much-faster-acting computer system. During cornering, it can move to a 20/80-percent split to counter the understeer. Also aiding the ability to rotate fluidly is a torque-vectoring system that applies the brake to the inside rear wheel while feeding a bit more power to the rear end—and therefore to the unbraked outside wheel—to compensate for the drag - winter tires are always recommended, for reason of better snow traction but for proper braking as well. - suspension setting is different from RWD. - A.S.S can be turned off at the last setting and will not be defaulted back to ON unless you press the button again - Weight distribution : RWD - 50/50 ; Xdrive - 51/49 - Mods - if you have the $, your options are limitless. xdrive typically will have a slightly higher spring setup (for snow clearance), thus having a bit more wheel well gap than RWD. But most xdrive owners can opt to change the springs to like HR, Eibach, etc. to lower the car, simply for look (bit of aggressive stance)

You should also consider ordering the car with M Perforance Pkg (ZHD) $1500 as it has M adaptive sports suspension which will give you the damper control for better road handling situation.

Before you order anything, go to the Woodbridge meet (Costco / Weston & 7) next Sunday (Nov 3) to take a look who has done the change and I am sure there are lot more owners who can answer your questions in better details.
