Ok so ive seen these headlights installed on a f30 that parks around and lives around my area and a couple things to note. At first glance i thought a 4 seroes or m3/4 was coming down the block until i noticed it was actually pre lci f30 with these led replica headlights. So first inpression it looked good. And as it passed me i saw the light output and that is where it was a little confusing/worrisome,as it didnt look as bright as hids on f30 or even other car manufacture hids. but then again i was outside the car with no way of seeing how the light output was for the driver. Also they are replicas of an oem product so im sure it has its downsides but just thought id mention that as i saw it in the fleshh.

That's all going to come down to the reflector/projector. I've had cars with HIDs for a long time, and this is on par if not brighter.

I noticed these Umnitza LED headlights do not have projectors. Typically, HIDs/LEDs that don't have projectors and are only using reflectors have a pretty crappy cutoff. Either that, or they just throw light everywhere, blinding oncoming traffic. In either case, the perception is low quality. Manufacturers typically do this to save on cost as real glass projectors are costly. The advantage though, when they spend the money on real glass projectors is more precision, classier/OEM look, and it starts with a cutoff that looks like this: |

Those are Morimoto's from Retrofit Source (TRS), but my generic mini H1 projectors from Amazon for $36/pair provides a cut-off not far-off from those.
Maybe a better question is ... what projectors are _you_using? But you did indicate that your cut-offs were measured on your previous cars, so it may have been awhile ago. To be fair, projector technology gets better and better pretty quickly as time goes along, and TRS is on already on version 7.0 on their mini H1 projectors, which was released recently. And all the generic vendors will follow-suit shortly after... So super sharp cut-offs from projectors are pretty much a common commodity part nowadays. The thing that surprises me that the use of projectors with LED headlights today are still pretty uncommon as far as what I've seen so far. I'm sure cost drives that decision for the most part, but the costs are coming way down, so i'm a little puzzled why more LED headlights don't include them. |

I assume the design of these is based on OEM
http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=944264 The cutoff is probably not as sharp due to reflector quality and led type. Still sharper/better then Halogens and close to OEM reflector LEDs. |

Was about ready to order but called my shop first to make an appointment and discussed this light with the shop guys... Even they are not recommending this set for 1600+..... They are a little surprised at OEM like lights at 1600+ even for Euro cars.
so question for my friends here.... worth the money? should I wait and hope the price drop? The shop's question is mostly on quality... 1600 ~ 2000 for factory will be acceptable... so if the quality is on-par with factory than maybe its still a good buy? |

I'd go with Umnitza... but that's because they are local... Also I have heard interesting comments about the other guys... disclaimer: I never ordered from either one of them.. so really its because Umnitza is close to me

Let me know if I have my info wrong... but if I remember what I read, this is basically similiar to HID retrofit which requires parts and coding. I don't really think the after-market light is mickey-mouse per se... I've seen one in person and is actually very close to factory... but yes they are nowhere near as sexy as hockey stick |

I think even the wiring is different with the oem led's. The one thread I read about it, said he had to get different wiring harnesses to do the retrofit, and he was coming from adaptive xenons
