Dash/ HUD rattle
Recently, a new rattle has appeared on my 2016 F32 N55. This time it's coming from I think the HUD area, almost like the middle of the driver side dashboard. I've taken off the bottom cover, both vents, instrument cluster, but still can't find this rattle. Happens only on rough roads but it's getting louder. I swear it's coming from the center of the dash in the HUD. Who knows. Anyone else had this issue? To me it sounds like plastic on plastic or metal.

Have you tried shaking your cluster? I hear a little piece of plastic or something rattling but always assumed it's inside the cluster.
My last BMW had the same noise so I really don't care to disassemble |

Yeah cluster was solid, I actually drove while I had it out of the mount to see if the sound was that, but the sound was still there.

Hey I had a similar issue to this. I took off the trim on the A Pillar and couldn't find anything as well as everything from the door panel to underneath the drivers seat.
I looked outside the car and right where the A Pillar meets the front driver fender, I could "flex" the top part very easily. The other side isn't as easy to flex. This is the sound of the metal fender hitting the metal frame and sounds like a rattle. I put a strip of velcro on the inside of the fender (see picture) hidden and away and haven't had the sound since. No idea what fell or came loose, but the velcro made the rattling stop and is effective. Let me know if this works. If not, I can suggest other things I tried.

Still can't find the rattle I've tried hunting it down multiple times lol. Took apart the whole dash to see if I can find it but still can't. I've been messing with the outer trim around the engine and driver side pillar, but can't get it to stop. Sounds like it's either in the middle of the dash or hud or outside in the engine bay near the driver side. Should I take it to a dealer?

Yeah mine sounds like the center of the dashboard on the drivers side. Occasionally sounds like it's in the engine bay and sometimes it's in the dashboard lmao

On mine it was a plastic clip holding down some cowl covering at the base of the windshield. I just wedged some foam in there to keep pressure on it and the noise hasn’t returned.
