It's the old fashioned anti-glare button. Have you tried twisting the button at bottom of the mirror either way gently? It tilts the mirror slightly to avoid glare from headlights behind.

LED, actually, but as that stands for Light Emitting Diode you're close.

You mean you didn't know you have an alarm. That's not unusual, since you don't have to do anything to activate it other than to lock the car. How it works is in your manual.
