Ah, but most of the reviews said dont buy an X3M as the ride is shit, and look at this forum....

I know nothing about watches if I am honest, but I do think that what is the best watch might not be the best for me / you. For example, I dont like the look that much, its OK but nothing magical, and from what I read its a bit small for my liking...

So I probably wouldnt pick it and maybe that would be the wrong decision on quality factors, but then I would rarely pick a Rolex as they dont do it for me either.

I know, I should be shot on sight. C'est la vie!

So very true...
It might be the best 3k ever spent on a watch.. ......
........ If you want a watch that ticks the exact same boxes as the Tudor does.

For me its far, far too bling...
I don't see the appeal of metal straps/bracelets (they remind me of wannabe Dell Boy's, and I HATE the sound they make, and they're heavy)
It's too shallow and too small.
And I dont like the gold on black...
It's neither dressy or utility..

Watch choice is the most subjective thing ever so I fully agree with isleaiw1.
And also appreciate that we all love different styles of watch to stare at. (I do regualry at my many Seiko's while at my desk)

I appreciate technology and bespoke movements etc etc.. But at the end of the day, if does not look right (personal choice), or tick the right boxes (personal choice) it could be the easist way to waste 3k.

Interested to see what you do like. Pretty clear you aren't a Tudor fan.

It is a LOT of watch for under £3k! Even the current equivalent of my Tag Carrera is £3.5k list now!

I own and love to look at loads and loads of watches. Tudor included.
My current fad seems to be Seiko's, classic and modern.
It has ranged from Breitlings to old casio digitals.

I was just making the point that watches are so personal, and that any love or hate is subjective.

Regarding the Tudor, in addition to what I mentioned above, I'm also not a fan of the style.
The colours (gold/black) imply a dress style that does not match the divers style bezel.
IMO a watch with the classic divers bezel needs to look more funtional and 'stronger' looking.

All in my opinion and obviously very subjective to my personal tastes....

I'm currently trying to convince my dad to buy (subjectivley) the best small hot hatch around... Rather than what he is looking at buying.
But he won't entertain the obviously better car because he dislikes the dash.!
It's the same with me and watches, it might be the best buy for 3k but if it's not floating the boat, I can't justify the spend.

And that is the point I was clumsily making - it might be technically the best but emotion counts a lot in this sort of market and for that it is very personal.

I too have a divers watch that is chunky and more casual, and a dress watch that is more classic. Probably not other people’s choices but I like them...

Ps civic type R or Fiesta ST?

Emotions do matter. I'm afraid I don't like the Tudor either, it's not smart enough to be a dress watch for my tastes, or sporty enough to be worn more casually for me. Also, all the reviews I've read constantly make direct references to it being a great alternative to a Rolex, but cheaper. Makes it sound like second best for those that can't afford. Although I don't like Rolex's either.

That said, it's all personal taste and not meant to offend, that's just the thoughts and emotions that Tudor (and Rolex) bring to me. But then I like and wear Breitlings, which I know are absolutely not to everyone's tastes. But, I think they're great, and that's all that matters to me.

Noticed the bump in Tudor list prices

My GMT was £2.7k this time last year. It's now £3k+

Seem to be more GMT's available now, especially on NATO straps. Steel bracelets shouldn't be more that 3 months depending on your AD (avoid Goldsmiths/WoS)

I only have two watches, one battery and my automatic Breitling. With a power reserve of 70 hours it's never stopped before.

But, don't tend to wear it round the house, now it's stopping regularly. Coronavirus side effect. No one warned me about this one.
