I've had an idea to stop panic buying. Allocate each day of the week to people whose name begins with a certain letter to go shopping, so:

Monday for people whose names begin A to E
Tuesday for F to J
Wednesday for K to O
Thursday for P to T
Friday for U to Y

That just leaves Saturday and Sunday for everyone else

And to add - F'n runners!

On two walks around the block (yesterday and today) some singlet-clad bugger has come heaving and wheezing and panting far too near to my wee squad for comfort.
One young git ran more or less through or group of four on the pavement, despite there being a 24-foot roadway and a pavement on the other side to use.

I'm still paying for the nursery £825 for the 2 year old and for my 7 and 8 year old total of the after school club £450
and kids judo £56
family gym subscription £120
and kids tuition £240
though most of the above are shut.
well im ok with that but mrs is livid saying why pay for something you cannot use but i take the view that i will continue using the above for the foreseeable future once things reopen but mrs thinks I'm a mug.
Im going to pay as im getting paid 100% though im working full time currently.
Hopefully once the above businesses open they will note my contribution when they were shut and add it as future credit for such a time when they are back in profit.

It's one form of exercise per person per day. Me and my wife are each taking the dog for one walk? And diligently picking up any dogshit, obviously

Rant of the day :

One telephone conversation this morning with staff members from the Covid wards about the stock level and availability of body bags.

The rant bit is that in work I can put everything to one side, concentrate on it all, be dispassionate and utterly practical.
Then I get home, and can't switch off, and the reality of what I've been preparing for hits me.
Basically, I'm good at preparing for hundreds of people to die.
I fucking hate myself some days

It's a proper shitstorm Robbie and people like you are doing a great job of trying to get us all through it. Have a small one and get some kip. You're going to need it.

Thanks mate.
Had a little cry this evening, I must admit.
I'm lucky in I've got a great wife who's at home due to her work being closed down, she's doing loads of jobs at home, around the farm that I never get time for, and preparing dinner in the evenings, looking after me. She does our shopping, and for her mum, my mum and dad - also for 2 elderly ladies in our village.
She's a rock - and yeah, I've told her so

Glad you've got your support at home. Having a partner who understands and sometimes doesn't say anything but holds you when you need it is invaluable.

Different circumstances but I've cried at work or on the way home many times.

If you ever need to talk or rant just message me.

Well I'm glad someone's taking notice. This is from the BBC website today:

People in Mauritius will from now on shop for essentials on allocated days depending on the first letter of their surname as a measure to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Prime Minster Pravind Jugnauth said the measure would avoid overcrowding, adding that shoppers will only have 30 minutes to finish their shopping.

This means that, those whose surnames begin with A-F will shop on Monday and Thursday, G-N on Tuesday and Friday and O-Z on Wednesday and Saturday. The shops will be closed on Sunday.
