Kickdown problem

Hi all

When I kickdown either from standstill or when rolling the car feels like it's struggling and doesn't go. Feels like it's being held back whereas I'm expecting it to just take off.

Can only has a Dinan elite, cat back and CAI.

Is this fuel cut or something else?

Car is relatively low mileage. 17000 km. Never really driven hard until recently when testing the dinan

Ideas?

Is it leaking boost at all? Check CAI and make sure that's secure too. If you're stumped i'd probably try logging a few runs and posting them here.
I'd also check CP for whatever reason if that came lose when working on other components.

Try checking the car for shadow codes too.

Just feels like resistance.

Rpms going but car just isn't pushing ahead and ripping up the dial

What drive mode are you in?

I'd wager that it could be Traction Control kicking in. Try the same in DSC OFF mode.

Either that piggyback as the other user said...or your traction control kicking in hard and limiting power. Have you tried it with DSC OFF?

Tried it out again and seemed ok. Not sure why it was playing up so thanks for all the tips guys.

I never had this problem in my 435i which would rip hard in all drive mods. Is there some differences in the lcis and b58 to preemptively hold the engine back from revving up quickly like it should?

There are protections in place and maybe Dinan did not run their tuning against a scenario where the sudden kickdown was used. I would call Dinan.

I'd say you are having wheel slip. Have you tried what others have said about turning DSC off or trying sport+?

I haven't removed and tried again but definitely didn't notice it when stock.

It also happens when full throttle, not just kickdown, at rolling start.

Feels like the car is restricted. Like blowing through a straw half closed.

Wondering if a bungled dp and exhaust install could be the problem.

Are you sure it's not throttle closure because of
torque limitations from the trans?
