I’ve got a 2015 335i 148k miles that had a valve cover leak and bad pcv so i decided to replace the valve cover and gasket, started fine no issues no visible leaks nothing leaking into spark plug holes either, but after driving home my gf noticed a lot more then usual amount of grey smoke (burning oil) from my exhaust, i pulled over checked oil level and it was about a quart low but after refilling and driving the rest of the way home it hadn’t read any lower then full, please help i’m very confused ill post pictures of it smoking as well, it won’t allow me to post a video but it smokes mostly from a stop then going or when letting off the gas
Catless downpipe
new hybrid turbo
i’ve got an oil catch can

i would assume turbo seals somehow are bad but it wasn’t smoking this bad before the valve cover job

UPDATE: after the smoke seemingly disappeared it came back today and i burned another half quart of oil in a maybe 30 minute drive!

What brand valve cover?

Strange coincidence for sure. There's only so many sources of oil burning.

My valve cover ended up beeing free. Maybe there is an extended warranty like there is for the b58

It’s a ebay valve cover but it fit flawlessly and it doesn’t leak anywhere, is it possible the pcv somehow came faulty in the valve cover it self?
Some other people i talked to said possibly piston rings or turbo seals which makes sense however there was very very little smoke and I burned maybe 1 quart in between oil changes before this valve cover, now i’m burning half a quart in 50 miles so i’m not sure

Besides piston rings and turbo seals, hardened valve seals may be possible issue too.
