40i back box fitted to my 430d GC

I'd been thinking of doing this for a while and finally got around to getting it fitted on Thursday. I opted for black chrome tips as the rest of the car is gloss black shadow line with gloss black grilles and wing vents, I'm very happy with the result.

Can you please share further details on this mod? - i.e. how much does it cost, what mods were required to the original exhaust (cutting, welding etc) - how does it sound (surely nothing near to how it sound on 440i), who did the job for you etc.
Thanks in advance.

The back box was from a delivery mileage car and cost me £200 and fitting was £100 + VAT to fit. I was under the impression that the box would fit directly on the car without any modification but the exhaust place had to modify the hangers slightly to get the alignment bang on, this isnt a problem for any specialist exhaust shop (it was done by Top Gear Performance in Doncaster). The back box mod is purely cosmetic and doesn't change the sound at all, I just prefer the look of it.

I'm assuming you have locked the valve open?

Yes, the exhaust place put a spot weld on the flap spindle but I've left the black box and sprung clip installed too.
