best quality exhaust manufacturer for f30 n55 335ix

I have my catless wagner downpipe. was told because it's the largest it's the deepest sound. now I have a few questions. I was watching an adam lz video today, they were putting an exhaust on his Porsche. they brought up army trix and were trolling the company. saying sarcastically if u want all the bangs and pops get army trix. they then said in all seriousness that army trix is marketing first quality second. so that sparked my interest. what company makes the best quality exhaust for f30 335ix 2013? I really like the gthaus meishtershaft. the second part to my question is what companies offer a titanium exhaust to save weight? I saw the titanium option for the Gthaus meishtershaft, any others? please offer insight. another I like is borla. I know awe and remus are quite popular too. thanks in advance!

A similar company to Armytrix is iPE (Innotech Performance Exhaust). It's a valve control exhaust (vacuum not plug and play) that is basically straight piped when open. I have their cat back matched with a Wagner catted dp. When open it is loud, when closed its as quiet as stock but with a nicer tone.

I don't use a 'pops and bangs' tune but still get nice overrun. If you tune it to, it will most definitely make some very loud bangs.

It's stainless steel

Best quality for the price is The Remus Axleback, imo. Can't beat it at less than 1K as it's a really nice item up close. Sounds good on stock DP, but not very loud until you are on the gas. The grumble is pretty nice regardless, though

I have read it a few times on this forum that Akrapovic is the best exhaust money can buy.

I watched a bunch of exhaust videos when I first bought my F32 and it was my first time learning about the brand. It is quiet in comfort mode, no drone during normal driving condition. Drone exists in comfort mode if you gas it, nothing horrible in my opinion. But if you put it in Sports mode, the beast is awake. It roars and it is deep, plus a lot of burble (6-8 times when you let go the gas) if you drive in manual/sport mode (transmission).

Akrapovic cat-back is the only exhaust mod I have on the car. My MPG did drop because I got addicted listening to it...

I'm about to get the Wagner catted downpipe. Curious what differences you noticed after yours was installed such as sound, check engine lights, smells, performance, etc? Thanks in advance!

Hey There,

My name is Sean and I work over at Fabspeed. We have a very popular sport cat down pipe using 200 cell HJS cats directly from Germany. They flow 93% of a straight pipe and guarantee no check engine light. We can barely keep them on our shelves. You wouldn't have to worry about any smell or check engine light. Here is a sound clip after an install from one of our customers.

Change in sound was instantly noticeable, it's an acquired taste, sounds good in sports mode but certainly didn't satisfy my want for other exhaust modifications. Some people really like the dp + oem exhaust combo though, certainly the cheaper option!

There's very little smell, I park in an underground garage and if I have the windows down when I start it I get some smell, but mostly cause I have the cold start disabled. Sometimes when reversing with the windows down you might get a hint too.

Performance wise. I tuned on BM3 Stage 2 93OCT straight away after the install. It's a missile, massive improvement.

You're not going to see a huge variation in exhaust quality in our market. The reason why they say armytrix is good at marketing first is because their marketing makes people think their exhausts are worth more money. But in reality They're all pretty similar.

And titanium exhausts are awesome and I'd love to have one when I'm rich, but the fact of the matter is a smaller muffler on a SS exhaust will bring more weight savings than a Ti exhaust. Just look at the akrapovic midpipe. It uses twice as much piping instead of using a resonator. So it's more of a "nice to have" than a higher quality thing.

Personally I think Borla is a great option with proper sized exhaust tips and a muffler that doesn't hang below the rear valance. But it's all personal preference.

I currently have MPE + res delete + stock DP. Sounds good, loud coldstarts, but really craving something louder/more aggressive on throttle. Considering the switch to Borla ATAK or Remus. Not sure Remus is much louder than MPE though, just a different tone? Fabspeed catted DP may be good with my current setup. Lots of options...

I looked into the fabspeed and was considering they're dp in the beginning. but the reason I opted out (this isnt fabspeeds fault) is because if I went catted and spent 1,300 I would want to keep it in during my yearly inspection. if there is a visual inspection fabspeed told me it's a 50/50 chance to pass. so I decided I'd go catless wagner and either buy mini cats for the sensor or just reinstall my oem downpipe to pass emissions. wagner has the most "stock" look to it and is the widest which provides a deeper sound. I figure if I find an inspection shop that isnt 100 percent on how our stock downpipes look I'll be fine. very happy with the quality of the wagner. spent honestly over 10+ hours researching downpipes.

I did a muffler delete on this car with stock downpipe and resonator in place and I went to drone city. 2 weeks later I put the oem axle back back on. after that experiance I am weary about buying an exhaust for this car once my catless wagner dp is installed. I have a resonator delete currently. this Tuesday my wagner goes in. I will check back about drone if there is any with catless wagner, resonator delete, and sportline 335i exhaust.
thanks all!

Exhaust

Depends on the downpipe you decide to go with. I'm running VRSF and Akra with midpipe and it never disappoints.

FWIW, I've yet to hear a better sound than the Fabspeed DP and Akrapovic.

REMUS has the best quality.

I visited their factory in Austria and their resources are unmatched by any other aftermarket exhaust company in the world. Starting with their 1000 employees, to their 12 million dollar sound round, robotics fabrication, 2 in-house dynos, fully dedicated in-house track to monitor drone, etc...
