Germany or USA?

Does anyone know if the G20 3 series for the North American market will be assembled in the USA? Or will it still be imported from Germany? I plan to order a M340i as soon as they are released next year, and I have always wanted to do the European delivery program. It would be nice to pick up my car directly from the factory, and tour Germany on the autobahn, possibly even a day at the nurburgring

Well....sounds like the biggest delivery adventure may just be to take local delivery and drive your new 3 series back into the US via the Tijuana border....always a good time

If Mr. Trump not increase the taxes to Mexico products (which was a campaign promise, but you know Trump and how crazy he is) BMW indeed should build the next gen 3 series in Mexico!

Lol. Bummer. I'm Canadian, so I guess it would be a nice long drive from Mexican to western Canada. I still want to experience the autobahn, maybe I may just go and rent one for a week

I can't find the article, but I remember reading somewhere it was only going to be a particular version of the G2x (maybe someone can back me up on this). I imagine you can guarantee getting a German built G20 if you do ED.

They'll build in Mexico but they'll also build in Germany, so chances are European delivery will still be an option.

...and there is no BMW 3-series assembly plant in the US. Spartanburg only produces X-series SAVs.

The autobahn is not all that great as it only has two lanes in each direction so you get cut off all the time.

Since the USA version of the G20 is slightly different than the European ones it is possible that the USA version will only be made in Mexico which would eliminate getting the G20 on a European Delivery (ED). This is what MB did with it's USA C Class manufactured cars.
Not sure all G20 models will be made in Mexico as has been mentioned.
You can alway go for a 4 Series Grande Coupe for a (smaller) 4 door which will be available for ED.

It's like with Hondas only some are made here some are made in Japan. You can tell by the VIN. ED will likely still be available for all models, though I wouldn't see the point in ED for something like a 320i.
