Digital Display Cluster Issues
2018 340i GT recently is giving me a "downsized" version of the digital cluster. I have the upgraded one with a larger digital footprint. For instance, it wont show time or miles to destination in middle, the displays don't change to red sport or blue eco pro, and it's truly just the bare minimum.
One guess is that my service interval for an oil change is activated. I wintered the vehicle so the computer thinks it's time but I'm well inside the mileage interval. Another guess is that the latest navigation update (and /or iDrive update? Not sure if that does automatic over air updates) somehow impacted the digital display software. So is the "downsized" digital display BMW's way of getting you to address the service notifications? p.s. I don't use bimmercode or any flash tune software. |

So I reset the oil service, recalibrated the TPMS, and it didn't work. I then found the settings under iDrive, Displays, and for some reason all the check boxes were unchecked. Perhaps there was an over the air update and it reverted back. Oh well, learn something new every day.

Ok new issue - the digital “fuel consumption” dials under the speed and tach disappeared. Manual says they’re under iDrive - displays - instrument panel - “additional indicators” but that option doesn’t exist anymore! I know it’s a little thing but the current fuel consumption under the tach and the range under the speed were great features.

Ok this is really upsetting. The manual says the option should be in displays but it's not there. Anyone have any guess how to get these dials back? Is this a "hidden menu" fix?
