It's not because of the language (online translators do a good job and there are many German coding resources out there), it's just that codes are found because they usually enable things are are available in some geographies, but not in others.

For example, the start in Eco-Pro mode is the default for European Efficient Dynamics builds. So, the ECU that controls that function (the ICM) has a setting that is different than that in the US. So comparing the .ncd (settings) files shows where the difference is and we now have a new code. Since no geography enables Sport mode as default, we can't find the code this way.

The other way to find them is to go through each ECU looking for promising names (either in English, German, abbreviations, or a combination of them) or comments in the area being investigated, hoping to find something. Without documentation, we just guess and experiment to see what happens. I have not seen any reports of anyone finding something in any of the ECU's that would enable Sport mode. Sometimes, several settings have to be changed to enable or disable something, so some things look promising, but don't work as there are other seemingly unrelated codes that also have to be changed.

The ECU information is like the Windows registry, it's a tree of modules, sections, and values. There are hundreds (if not thousands) of values that configure your car. Without documentation as to what each one does, we're just searching for sets of needles in haystacks.

For A/C memory, what do you mean?
Does this mean when you turn off the air it stays off when you restart your car?

Supposedly, yes. I have not coded it on a car yet (no one has asked). It comes on when you start the car for a reason: to make sure the humidity in the cabin stays low so the windows don't fog.

I'm adding this to my coding list. We can experiment on your car if you want!
