Hi all,

Ordered my F31 340i today. Fully loaded. Only major options it doesn't have are sunroof and tv function. Oh and no smoker's pack

Basic deails, Tanzanite Blue, cashmere beige merino, mppsk will be fitted before collection with carbon fibre tips.

Two questions.

1. What do people think of m performance side skirts? I used to think they looked a bit tacky but they're growing on me. Considering this will be a performance-ish car, shadowline with black grills and all, I feel they could complement the character of the car.

2. Dealer did a hard sell on the autoglym. What do people think? Looks expensive. Didn't select it but was "assured" I could change my mind any time. Is exterior protection needed and is this a good option?

Now for the wait and it'll be a long one with those individual options.

Why not wait for the new one next year?

And I would go full mppk and full carbon interior with m performance front and rear bumper and diffusers.

Thought about that but decided against it. Had my 330d for 4 years. Felt it was time for a change. Will keep this one for another 4 years, by which time any initial problems with the new 3 (and there always are some) will hopefully have been ironed out.

I like the skirts but left the decals off but it?s really down to you, it?s your car and if you like them go for it!

I wouldn?t bother with autoglym from the dealer especially if they?re trying to charge you the full £500 or whatever, I?d find a decent detailer near you and get them to do all the coatings, it?ll be less money and actually get done properly making it really easy to keep the car clean and looking good

Nice!.forget the dealer stuff and book a detailer with a ceramic coat.
If you add the skirts thn no stickers I would say.

Great spec and best engine and body shape!

I don't know how much the dealer has quoted you, but we had ours ceramic coated at a local detailer, including wheels and glass for £475 and it's just unbelievable - nothing seems to stick to the car anymore!!

Full m performance aero kit or nothing imo, wouldn't just have the side blades. Personally I think tanzanite is quite a classy look and will be great without any m performance bits.

Definitely don't spend your hard earned on any dealer paint protection, it's overpriced and applied by people who have little interest in your cars paint work.

TB here like Chompers and I had the M Performance kit added this year and it's really transformed the car. No decals and all the bits have been painted TB apart from the central fins of the rear diffuser, gives it a nice subtle cohesive look.

Each to their own but even with a light colour leather interior the panoramic roof would be one of the first options I'd tick....

100% agree with this, really missed the pano roof on the last f31.

I'd tick the smokers pack You get an extra LED lighting up the cup holders
