Updating BMW Software?
Hey,
I tried searching for the answers to this amateur(ish) question, but is there other ways to upgrade, other than the BMW site? When searching for updates there, the latest one for my 2015 F30 is from 2016 (I believe). Is there a way to upgrade to newest software or firmware by other means? I have an Enet cable and have used Bimmercode. Thanks in advance for the help. |

Other than dealer installed only upgrades the only update I'm aware of is one that improves Bluetooth connectivity. That's what's available as a download from BMW.

It is called flashing, it’s possible with Esys and full PSZData.
Search for: Flashing F series with ESYS. You should find a DIY that showes you how to do it. The person who does it does it on it’s own F30. It’s the same though for F20/30/... |

I for one have 3 years of experience, but I never had the courage to flash. Last week I finally did my first flash. REM module. (So I can connect the LCI lights without wire-tapping!) |

I've done the full car 3x
Once using ISTA/P Twice using Esys All you need is either of those tools, psdz full, an Enet cable, a battery maintainer (I use the schmacher inc 700a) .. and a little head knowledge. There's a pdf out there, "esys ecu flashing guide" that about covers it. It's easy, just make sure you have the car and the laptop well plugged in. |

Updating coded car
I have a similar problem.
I recently purchased a '14 F30 that with Bluetooth telephone and coded Bluetooth audio with E-sys, now my question is how do I update the Bluetooth functionality if my car wasn't meant to have it. I tried using the VIN of another f30 with Bluetooth media but my car wouldn't accept the file, it says that the update file is invalid. Any advice? |
