Slow windshield wiper speeds

I live in the Tropics.

During rain storms the wipers on the F30 2012 model are just too slow. This isn't a problem with my previous e90, or the Range Rover Freelander...or the Honda Civic. In all these cars the wipers at highest speed move fast enough to clear the water from the windscreen.

On the F30, even at their highest speed they just don't move fast enough.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is there some setting that I don't know about?

I know this doesn't directly answer your question, but have you tried using RainX or another product to help bead the water on the windshield? Just wondering if that would help the water to move off the windshield faster or at least provide more visibility in between wiper cycles.

I haven't tried that, but definitely the base speed of the wipers are too slow even on the high setting. I honestly though there was a setting after that which I simply wasn't accessing.

I shouldn't have to use a third party workaround to coat the windshield
