BMW F34: Bimmercode and Tuning Qs
I got a fairly new BMW F34 here in Germany and I already coded some nice stuff on it. FYI: I do have an Apple CarPlay activation off ebay for cheap money and the HUD coding does not work because the Bimmercode producer doesn’t wanna guarantee for any major software damage, friggin Germans...
Do you guys know if: (1) it is possible to turn off that “cold temperature 3deg C“ warning and chime sound that pops up every time I start the car? It’s winter. I am in Germany. I know it’s cold. (2) there is a way to turn on the rear view camera even when I am driving? In stock mode, it pretty much won’t activate unless I am stationary... Additional question: (3) Are there any structural differences in my B48 engine between the 320i and 330i model? I am thinking about chiptuning my 320i once the extended warranty runs out. But I am worried that it may put too much stress on the drivetrain. If the difference between 320i and 330i is just software, then I’d happily do it. Thanks and drive safe. |

1. I don't think so.
2. Yes, but it's complicated. In REM you have to change the speed at which it turns off and the distance traveled before it turns off both the camera and the PDC. If you don't want it to turn off at 50km/hr and/or after traveling 250m you need to change the FF to 00 in the REM 3203 PdcParkMasterVar D_SCHWELLE_ 1 in Expert Mode. If you do this the camera will stay on after putting it in reverse causes it to come on, so you have to engage another iDrive function, like Nav, to turn it off. 3. There are differences in the N20 engines for the 320 and 328. |

Thanks and cheers to NH! I used to live in Boston until this June.
(2) Thanks, I will try and look into it. Never been to export mode yet! (3) Mine is a B48 with 135kW but yes, that's what I was wondering. I will stay away from any software tuning then if there are significant component/material differences between the 135-170kW versions (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_B48) |
