Once you have an account just log into it and under "MY Account" click on "Add or Remove a Vehicle". You can use a production number of VIN.

Thank you Greg although I don't see a status code such as status 112.

Unfortunately, you cannot get detailed status online. Best is to have your client advisor check on their system with a "Vehicle Inquiry" for you occasionally. You can also get more current information by calling BMWUSA, though I don't think they give you the detailed production steps.

So, 112 means 2 weeks... till start build or what? I don't get... Would someone care to explain what it means when a M3 has 112 code?
Thanks

If your car is 112, can any aspect of your order not be changed?

I was at the dealer today and spoke w/ my CA. We pulled my car up on the computer and it had 112 status. I told him I was thinking of switching to fox red. His reply was that some changes can't be made while a car is 112. From discussions with the guy he clearly doesn't know as much about bmws or the ordering process, but, I'm curious if there is any truth to what he said. (i.e. any truth to the assertion that some aspects of your order can't be changed once a car is 112 - and what aspects those are)????

edit: after doing more research it appears you can change everything in status 112 but the CA might have gotten the idea because cars don't stay at 112 very long..

On my early production '08 car, it was about 3 weeks from status 112 to 151 (VIN issued) and car was completed 1 week later.

my F30 is on the way to the port of exit since the last 6 days
Does anyone know the city of the port of exit? And what is the shipping company that BMW would probably use (that way I could try to track the ship's voyage to the west coast)?

Almost guaranteed you'll be on the Mignon - A ship operated by W&W lines.

It leaves Bremerhaven, Germany on Jul 30, 2012 an is arriving Aug 23, 2012 in Oxnard, CA at Port Hueneme.

Keep an eye on the ordering forum for a post w/ Mignon in the title. There will be more information there.

After doing a bit more research, I figured the same. Unfortunately, it is already 08/01 and the status is still the same -- "vehicle being transferred to the port of exit"

Hi all, I have a question about status at the bmwusa.com. Mine showed "Finishing Touches". Does it mean that it arrived at my dealership and they're doing finishing touch? I called my CA and apparently he's not giving me any clue whether it's on the truck or anything. He just said ... Soon. That's why I turn to you all to find it out.

That could mean that your car is waiting for a part. My 428i sat in Georgia waiting for black kidney grills to arrive from Germany!! After sitting at "finishing touches" for about a week and a half, my CA checked and found that my car was just sitting there wait for those grills. He told them to send the car and that he would have the grills installed at the dealership(they just happened to have some in the parts dept). The car arrived in Lakeland, FL a day later, and I'm sooo glad they installed those Black Kidney grills!!

Do we know if the BMW genuis hotline people have access to the VIR report? or is it something else they see. I have been calling them to get updates on my car and they have been helpful, always get a human on the phone quickly.
