what should i do as my first mod?
i have a 2015 bmw 428i with the n20 motor it’s completely stock, all i’ve done so far are wheels coilovers msport front bumper but now want to get into engine modifications. my goals aren’t to get it crazy fast because i know there not capable of anything over 300-350hp on the stock block but i want to gain some noise for sure. want to go catless but not sure of what mods i should do first.

my plan was to start off with vrsf catless downpipe and maybe like a cts cold air intake kit. just to gain some sound and get a bootmod3 tune shortly after.

I recommend waiting on the downpipe until after you get a tune. or you will have to live with the check engine light on all the time.
If you plan to upgrade the sound, start with the MAD intake and active autowerke axle back exhaust

i ordered my bootmod3 tune yesterday i’m supposed to get my wireless adapter today and plan on tuning tomorrow. will go stage 1 and eventually get downpipe and front mount intercooler and then will go to stage 2 and i’ll add burbles. does that sounds about right?

mike@x-ph.com hey. so i am now stage 1, and i have my catless downpipe installed, sounds great when driving. but im not overly happy about the cold start sounds pretty raspy and i wish it was deeper. is this normal n20 things or is it something of concern?

its not a concern as rasp does not hurt the engine, it just does not sound good.
