Drove SL 65 AMG Black series...

WOW... my work just recieved the Magazine edition (aka car that had the crap driven out of it by all the car mags...) SL 65 Black series. What a beast. since the car already has 2,000 hard driven miles on it my boss didn't mind me driving it around the block before it went to detail I hopped on the freeway and man does that thing turn heads when you look like a 17 year old. people were giving thumbs up and not loking at the road.
the car takes off like a rocket!! handles real well. and that exhaust
the car IMHO drives a lot better than the SLR, I would take it any day over that car
man I wish I had a couple houndred grand laying around....
just had to share... here's some pics off our showroom floor

you can kinda see the SLR in this one in the back...

Awesome dude, good thing it went into detail before you gave it to your boss. That way they can clean the mess you left in the seat.

Very awesome car. Any idea how much cheaper he got it because it was borrowed??

That car looks fricken awesome!

I was considering a C63 black a while back, but would not pay the 50K markup. F that. lol

It's funny, I'm not generally attracted to the AMG cars. They generally seem overpowered for the caliber of their chassis, and the idea of an automatic on a true performance car makes my boys retract up into my body.

The SL 65 Black, though, has such presence that I have been captivated by it from the first time I saw a picture of it. I find it viscerally sexy and scary in a way that is not rivaled by any other current production car in the world, short of superexotics like Zondas, Reventons and Koenigseggs. It's just beastly and, for me, far more desirable than the SLR. If I suddenly had great wealth I'd be hard pressed not to buy one.

Awesome car but overpriced just like the SLR. How do you not buy a ferrari over that? It will NEVER make sense to me. ALso its a black series and you cant get a real 6 speed manual? Makes no sense to me again. Sick car but there are about 50 better choices.

Why do you assume that everyone out there with money needs to buy a bright in your face car with a manual where you cant use it daily. There is a car for every type of people out there.

because the people that usually buy these kinds of cars (rare, limited) already have ferraris and lambos. this is more of a collector's car then a daily driving car, obviously
