Still running original coils. I'd say I do "moderate-spirited" driving... Nothing too crazy and don't go to the track, but I do a lot of driving at 80-90 mph and like to have some fun with it. AT and no fluid/filter change. 200K was my goal, so I'm now going for 250... We'll see--that may be optimistic! |

Turbo failure at 33k- whole thing was replaced under BMW warranty That's pretty much the only problem I had with the car, other than that everything runs great. |

2. OCI is 10-15K. (I try to do 10K, but I admit to occasionally going over, especially back when 15K was the BMW recommended OCI and it was mid-winter ) 3. You reckon correctly: these are mostly highway miles. In fact, I was running factory rear brakes for over 130K miles, and factory front brakes for nearly 166K miles! |

I think 10K miles is totally fine. For the first 50K miles, I did 17K miles OCI (that's when the CBS lit up; mostly highway miles). After that I started doing mid-way changes (7.5-8K OCIs), especially after BMW reduced the OCI to 10K and my commute became 50:50 city/highway. My car is now at 97K miles and trouble-free.

Keeping the thread alive...
Purchased As-is at 58k. 104k Miles now on my 2015 328i xdrive. 05/15 build date. 5k oil changes since 58k. ATF at 80k and again at 100k. Rear wheel bearing at 80k ish (from a bent wheel). Brakes (all) at 101k. (not sure about prior service history). Brake fluid flush at 48k and 101k. Air filter & spark plugs every 5th oil change. Cabin air filter a few times. Really happy with my first BMW ownership experience.

Reason for changing out the fluid after only 20k miles? Was it slipping and the 2nd fluid changed cured it?

1. FCP Euro's lifetime warranty 2. 95% highway driving which I have read stresses the fluid with heat. 3. Easy to service The 8 speed auto is fantastic in my opinion so I want to preserve its smoothness for as long as I can.

This is not promising ; I have an N26 and hearing stuff like this makes me want to dump my N26 and get a Lexus. BMW needs to be held accountable for this crap, seriously. |

I guess I'll go next, 2013 BMW 328i xDrive N26. Had it since 114k miles now at 126k approaching 127k. I've done front brakes and rotors, tail light wire melted tail light stopped working, tie rod ends were seized that was $700. Had an 04 e560 530i before this, that car was a headache, overall my f30 has been good but she is sluggish to take off, I think she needs spark plugs and ignition coils but idk. Like I said, I may consider getting a Lexus IS. I'm not having this motor blow up on me.

I highly recommend paying a visit to Bimmer Clinic given that your are in central NJ. They are great at troubleshooting and will figure it out.

Almost at 100k miles on my N20. Only issue I have had was the thermostat. Easy fix for me

My ex wife has had a 2012 328i since 2016. Got it with 42k miles. By now I suspect it has about 100k on it based on how far she now drives to get to work.
She is a total floor it and then slam on the brakes mid acceleration wear out the brakes at 30k miles kind of driver. She is also having to maintain it on her own... which means POORLY....and DEFINITELY not loved and Def not enthusiast owned or cared for...and...last I remember it was running GREEN COOLANT. An early model 2004 e60 525 survived her for 2 years and 70k miles without major issue but I also meticulously maintained it...and we got it at 105k miles in shitty condition (I rebuilt a lot on it but got it for a steal at $1000). From what I know it hasn't been a major issue for her at all. If it can survive her beatings, I'm sure it's gonna be fine at 100k and more if it's actually properly taken care of, and consideration of a majority of forum users tending to be more meticulous with their care for these or most BMWs for that matter....with many having an enthusiast mindset vs the blond bimbo driving the car daddy bought them let's assume the best care vs shit care 😂. I mean how many of us here really do oil changes when BMW says to vs much sooner? My e66 said 15000 miles I did them at 5000. My verdict....these can hit 150k easily if maintained properly, and driven respectfully. |
