New Member with a 330D M Sport

Hi everyone,

I'm new here so just introducing the car, 330D M Sport with the M Performance Aero Kit recently installed.

Have had the car about 7 weeks now, obviously loving it, nearly went for a 5 Series as I felt the need to change from coupe to saloon but in the end thought the 5 may be a bit too big for me to bimble around in. Anyway seeing as the F30 is larger than the E9x series it's more than big enough for us.

Can't fault anything so far, really happy with it, my last car was good (E92 M Sport Highline) but this feels just that bit better to drive, especially the technology! (and the gearbox etc...)

I initially budgeted for a 535D M Sport so the cash I saved got a few extras including:

Alpine White with mostly Black Interior
M Sport Package
Sport Auto Transmission
Pro Media Package
Visibility Package
Internet Browser
Enhanced Bluetooth, USB & Voice Control
Harman/Kardon
Head-up Display
Mirrors - folding, auto dimming
Sun Protection
Sliding Armrest
Rear Folding Head Restraints
Elec Fr Seats, Lumbar with Memory
Seat Heating
M Sport Braking
Reverse Camera
M Performance Aero Kit
M Performance Grills
M Performance CF Spoiler

Anyway hope it looks good so far, not sure what else can be added other than bigger alloys but that can wait for now. (I think)

Great looking car. Did you consider keeping the front splitter black like the spoiler?

Nice looking car... I'd keep those wheels, I think the Performance 20" wheels look too big personally.

What does the sliding armrest do? Other than the obvious!
I'm thinking of speccing it and wondered why you specced it?
cheers

To be honest I can't remember why I added that, I think it was a freebie upgrade at the time, however I tend to mess with the Idrive a lot and found it supports your left arm better if you slide it all the way forward whilst operating the controller

Lovely car and drives as good as it looks.
Mine is same but not quite same spec. I prefer the understated look knowing that my 4 door saloon will out pace almost anything else when I choose. This is a driver's car, nothing much better in my opinion.

Cheers, I was going to have it all painted gloss black but wasn't sure about the side aspect, from the front it would look good but the sides in my opinion end up looking a but to narrow (height), if you know what I mean.

My last car was black and you couldn't see the details very well, but the white really shows up the lines an was inspired by a picture of an american M Performance car in the end.

That's what I wanted to hear! I was unsure about getting the 20's, I think the 19's look fine. Maybe if I damage/kerb these in a year or something I could re-think things but happy with the look for now.

Great point about the white and the side view. I was going to say black would look better but your right it does show the detail which after all is the point of the splitter from a looks view point.

Yes kind off, apart from vans, or any commercial vehicles, I'm sure they pull out on purpose if they see us coming a bit rapidly!

Looks fantastic!!... I'm trying to decide about the how much of the M-Performace kit to add. I'd originally planned the whole thing including the wheels, but I got cold feet about the wheels due to the ride quality, cost and that they do look very big!

Mine is going to be EBII and I'm currently thinking of the everything but the front splitter and with the colour coded lower side skirts. Your photos have helped me decide it'll look fine with the 19's. Thanks!

Cheers mate, but why no front splitter? I went for the aero kit which includes the splitter, side skirts and diffuser as a package, then did a bit of negotiating to get the fitting and painting costs down (painting was about 200).

Have tested over a couple of speed bumps, no scraping so far!

The main reason is I can't decide on a colour scheme I'm 100% happy with. Don't like all matt black or all colour coded. Yours is probably yhe best, but I've not seen it like that on EB, so not sure. It's one of those things I'll probably add afterwards tbh.

If you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay all in for the parts fitting and painting? £200 for the paint seems decent enough (front lips and sides only? I presume the diffusers is as it came?

Do all the aero parts actually come as 1 kit? If it was cheaper this way I might be tempted

Yes it was a package deal, you can get a booklet from the dealer which shows it as a complete package (they don't show it all on the website), I spoke to the foreman in the parts dept to work out a deal, they brought in the guy who would do the painting from the body shop and we negotiated a price, about £800 plus vat for kit, £250 for fitting and £200 for painting. Spoiler and black grill was done separately though, they arrived with the car, I added the rest recently

That's a pretty good price. I've been quoted £1k for all the aero bits and the black grills excluding the splitter without painting or fitting, so more than I'd like tbh.
