Pretty glad I did. Moved the Auris into the garage to charge it today, the charger showed the battery was below 25% and it didn't feel like it turned over to start quite as quickly.

NB - the poor battery state is not all down to COVID, the car did only 180 miles between fill-ups on 20 December and 1st March! Mainly down to squeezing every last mile possible out of the revolving fleet of Discovery loan cars during dec/jan/feb

Had this delivered yesterday and quite frankly it's awesome best £500 I've spent!

It may well have paid for itself already as I spotted the damaged roof tile whilst taking pictures![IMG][/IMG]

I have the Beam. Impressed with it, although not in any way a cinema buff, so maybe not the best to comment.

We have a 3 in the kitchen, and this complements it well, from the point of view of having the same music in both rooms when we want, and as a vast improvement on the sound from our Samsung TV

Some V-Moda's, arrived yesterday:

Push them via my MacBook using Soundflower and AU Lab.
Then get this running:

Feck yeah, bliss..

We have the beam, 2 play 1s as rears and the sub. We have been really happy with it and a lot better than the tv sound. Sure there is better for the money but I think for the ease of the Sonos system I find it really suits us, would recommend.

Not god the Home Cinema setup, but we have a number of Play 1's, a Play 5 and a Sonos Connect to link into our existing home cinema system.

I love Sonos kit

Thinking about buying a new iPad, not sure which one though. Like the look of the 11 inch pro, but man it's expensive. Anyone bought that or an Air recently?

Just bought an Air to replace the 9.7 inch (2016) Pro I dropped a couple of weeks ago. Apart from being slightly faster it isn't very different.

The new Pro has Face ID, Lidar, four speakers and a better camera but I really couldn't see the point in spending an extra £300.

Whatever you do, don't go for the 7th gen iPad, the screen is awful.

Got the Playbar, VERY impressed, the ONLY thing I dont like is I can only link one IR device to the volume - so with an LG OLED and Virgin V6 I can only do volume control on the V6, it doesn't allow me to control it on the TV remote anymore.

But the sound difference more than makes up for it.

I know common sense says the Air for £300 less. But it still looks almost exactly the same as my iPad 4 from 2013. It's a bit battered now, so want something new, but not sure the Air will look or feel that much different. Decisions decisions.

Something that looks more modern, but in reality, no better for my use than the Air. Common sense says take the cheaper one. If it follows my usual purchasing logic I'll end up with the Pro.

Puzzles.

Lots and LOTS of puzzles. At work we crunch big data, evaluate and work on exec level projects - I have struggled for a few years now how to turn off from work and recently discovered puzzles work the best - the downside is I am finishing two-three a day (500-1000 pieces a time) so its going to be VERY expensive if this lockdown lasts more than 3 months...(I have 45 waiting to be done now)...keeps me quiet!

With Apple stuff if upgrading I always find spending more reaps the rewards every time.

I know what you mean, I just couldn't justify it. I'm going to put the money towards another synth that will never get played instead. That makes perfect sense

I have a (work) 11" Pro that is about 2 years old now. Love the size and speed but lets be honest its not light....

Of course there are brands other than Apple....

Won't be going for another brand. Tried that before a few years ago and regretted it with the major competition at that time, which was a Samsung.

Tried it for a while, but after a couple of months I had to get rid.

Not wasting money experimenting again.

I know you're not up for changing, and I am a huge fan of Apple phones. But I much prefer my 2017 Surface Pro to my wife's 2015(iirc) iPad. Part of that is that I like using it as a mini-laptop though.

Between the iPhone 11 Pro Max and the Surface, then the larger work laptop, seems to cover all my uses.

I'm not stuck on Apple for everything. My phone is a Samsung and had them for years and prefer to I Phone. Not looking to use as a laptop replacement though, purely for leisure and mainly internet surfing, and at the moment Houseparty/Zoom use. Makes the Air the sensible choice, but just can't seem to get past the fact that the Pro looks better.
