M Performance calipers plus R1 Concept rotor upgrade DIY

Hey yall!

I wanted to share my latest DIY with the community for my F32, including a couldnt pass up deal on calipers from a donor M4, R1 concept rotors and stoptech stainless steel brake lines!

Since they were off anyway, I went ahead and had a local shop fully powder coat them for me, plus new ///M stickers! That way I get red that matches my car accents, and didn't put on beat up blue calipers. They were a little rough.. look amazing now!

Let me know what you think!

yes , more stopping power. and some reason the coding is essential. without it your brake petal will hit the floor

Absolutely loving this upgrade in my car, both in performance and in appearance! HUGE upgrade!

The only thing "left" would be the F10 M5 400mm front upgrade.. but that would crazy!

Not tru at all

If your pedal hits the floor then the system was not properly bled - nothing to do with coding or not

I have had m4 brembo setup 370/340 on my F32 for years and did not code the brakes with absolutely no problems or reduction in braking

Many others have not coded also. After the fact, I was actually told by BMW tech that they do not bother to code the perf brake option install if they are replacing the gray brembo 340 front systems as it is not necessary

If you feel comfortable coding then by all means do it

Not sure why it wouldn't.. I have talked with R99 (the original thread author) about this upgrade, certainly not cheap that is for certain.

Is the hub or knuckle area different on the AWD?

Yes the hub is different to accommodate the halfshaft. Though, IIRC R99 didn't need to use the m car hub to make his work.

the question is did you already have a front brembo grey brake stock. because if you did. you didnt need to code. but it you had a 428i or a 430i with a front single piston brakes. trust me coding is essential

No issues for xDrive since the caliper fitment is identical between sDrive and xDrive.
