It will be going on soon enough, just cant justify that money right now... especially not when Im in dire need of a Flash Tune
So it is impossible to get the rear bar out by just removing sway bar links and pulling it out the driver side?

Yes. Impossible.

Trust me... equally surprised and frankly pissed.

Rear cradle must be lowered at least a few inches. Does not have to be completely removed... lines disconnected etc. Just lowered.

I have the 15mm bar in my garage. I just cant drop a grand on labor to have it installed!

Dealer actually quoted $9XX the first time and then $1,1XX this past time I asked.

It pays 5.5 hrs if I remember correctly. Im sure it can be done in 3 by the right guy with the right tools.

The reality should be 3 hours. Removing end links and axle back exhaust plus setup time should be like 30 mins. Then lowering cradle would be another 30-60min. Remove sway bar and install new one would be 30 ish i bet. Then to reinstall stuff 60mins seems fair.

I think you're damn near spot on....

Id love to find an honest indy who'd like to put $100 an hour into his pocket.

I dont believe that's wishful think or asking too much either.

Hi, I would like to get your opinion for sway bars. I have a 2012 bmw 335i RWD. So far I have H&R sport springs, B8 Bilstein shocks and M performance LSD. My car still have body roll when takes sharp turns.

I already ordered a 15mm 235i rear sway bar. What do you recommend for the front sway bar? Im thinking about H&R 28mm or m sport 25/22.2? Do you think there will be significant different between my 25/21.2 vs m sport 25/22.2?

Or if i go with 28mm h&r will it make more under steering? What are the setup you are using now?

Definitely can add KC Design to the list as well, and I am now running their front and rear bars.

I have a noob question: I am about to order the 15mm bmw rear sway bar. I looked at real oem and it shows 1 rubber bushing in the middle of the bar. Is this right? Aside from the bar, the only other piece we need is only 1 rubber bushing? How about the bracket that holds the bushing in place, is that the same size as the 12mm rear bar?

This is going on a 335ix, Dinan springs/shockware.

Each bar needs two bushings, one for each bracket. You can reuse the original brackets.

I had a shop install a rear sway bar on my xdrive at $100/hour but they discovered it didn't fit when it came time to reconnect the subframe. Super embarrassing seeing as how they were going out of their way for me, but the catalog had marked it wrong - it was by Megan racing. After taking to them they discovered they don't make a rear sway for an xdrive, even though they clearly advertised one. They refunded and I sold the bar to a rwd owner.

these look sick

I just got the 15mm bmw bar along with the stock bmw 15mm bushings. When I realized how squishy they are I started looking for poly bushings but I'm not willing to pay like $55 for the poly. I read some posts about poly vs rubber and from what I can gather the difference is minimal. This is my daily that's never tracked. I don't even drive hard.

By the way, can someone confirm the 15mm BMW bar works on an f30 335 xdrive with adaptive?

I have a 2017 340i Msport. The car came with the Msport suspension, I have since changed to the M performance suspension and M performance LSD. The car is running on 19" 403m style wheels with the OEM Bridgestone soo1 RFT. I am still not satisfied with the handling, the car still has too much body lean compared to my previous 2007 335i Sport Sedan (m sport) on stiffer springs which were brutally stiff and jarring but the car handled much more precisely and crisp with practically no body lean at speed (I would regularly run up to 130 mph and topped out in the mid 140's a few times). My new 340i does not feel stable and secure after 120 mph despite all of the mods. I am pushing alot more power with the stock 320hp + mppsk and Dinan Cold Air Intake. Couple the underrating of the stock engine hp + the mods, I'm pretty sure the car is making somewhere in the range of 385 to 395 hp at the crank but the platform just doesn't feel inclined to be able to handle it safely. Does anyone know if the body roll/lean can be improved by using any other BMW OEM anti sway bars, and if so which ones.

I've got H&R sway bars. It's the first suspension mod that I would do on an F3x. Handles flat! I really like how they are engineered to have the correct front/rear ratio.

Hey guys so I got the Dinan Sways installed on my 340i M sport w/ adaptive suspension + dinan shockware
Got it done for $800 at my mechanic (I know pretty crazy)
Right now it's not really feeling too planted... the turn ins are a bit better but still the car seems to flop around a bit before straightening out the wheel...
I've got the front and back sways set in the middle setting... anybody have any suggestions on how I should adjust it or what I should do.
(I don't want lowering springs because I already have a front splitter and it'll be impossible to go up my driveway. Plus had dinan Springs on my older 340i non M it sucked.) but if anybody sees this please help!

What tires are you running? Those can make a huge difference in response and nailed-down/loose feeling - especially as you tighten up the suspension itself, the tire response/grip is magnified.

Is it possible that, even with the ShockWare, that sway bar is overpowering your shocks and you're getting a bit of oscillation when you come out of a turn?

You might want to move the links out to the farthest holes and start from that point, using "trial and error".

So... quick update on the topic, i'll be going Eibach for my second attempt at anti roll bars

To refresh the table at the beginning
H&R: 28mm front plain / 19mm rear plain
Eibach & KW : 28mm front *hollow* / 16mm rear plain

Eibach and KW are hollow so much lighter and not as strong as H&R which I initially tried
H&R are definitely designed only for track beasts but not road usage, as they compromise suspension independence that you need when dealing with uneven surfaces.

Eibach or KW would be better suited, Dinan are probably good too but difficult to source in Europe.

I'll keep you posted in a month or so when I get a chance to have an appointment with my shop to mount them.

Keep in mind I have a full video series up on how to replace your sway bars, front and rear. I love my KC Design bars and has transformed the handling of my F32.

Check BMW Diy Guy on YouTube for the video series, and is also posted here.

Thanks

KC Design are 28mm plain front, 2 way adjustable and 17mm plain rear but 2-way adjustable which is rare, somewhere in between H&r and Eibach/KW then.
