F30 335i Oil temp
Can anyone help?
I have a 2013 BMW 335i F30 N55 And my oil temp gauge doesn’t read Even in the secret menu it just shows -48C It does read coolant temp but not oil The gauge work when you do the system test I changed the oil temp sensor and it didn’t do anything, the car seems to overheat my assumption is because oil temp doesn’t read so the car doesn’t know when to cool down itself Is there anymore temp sensors I could replace ? |

I have replaced the sensor that’s under the oil filter housing cap but that didnt do anything and no no codes with normal code readers. I’m waiting for my protool app, waiting for the Bluetooth connector to come in

Check the connector for oil and give it a good cleaning with electrical contact cleaner.
If you see oil you may want to check the connector to the DME for oil.

The N55 oil temp sensor is on the block under the inlet manifold, but it is down low on the block. You will probably have to remove the boost pipe and depending on your dexterity, you may need to loosen off the inlet manifold to access it. The sensors around the oil filter cap are oil pressure and coolant temp.

Found the issue. It was an issue with the oil temp sensor on the block under the intake manifold however … sensor wasn’t the issue, the wiring was.. seems like it was a rats nest and the wires are chewed up. Need to re solder the wires ..
