CoD = cylinder on demand.
Bentley's 8 cylinder cars only use 4 under light loads.

VW have a Polo that does the same.

As I said earlier, the v5c confirms the existing 335d engine is Euro6. The blue option may be to future proof for Euro7 in 2020?
