Many thanks RoarinRow!
Peculiar, the topcoat appears melted at places!? Have they been exposed to high temperatures?

On the recommendation of another member, if you tilt the mirror all the way down, you can access those clips with a long thin screwdriver or pick. Then you can press the clips to pop out the caps without removing the mirror.

Not saying it's a better way, but just another way.

IMO it's a better way, based on posts by those who have broken the glass trying to get it off, and my own experience of how easy it is to pop the caps off with a couple of trim removal wedges. I didn't even have to tilt them down or use a screw driver or pick.

Haha high temperatures to say the least. In Sacramento, CA our Summers are brutal. 100+ temps for weeks on end sometimes. No shade at my working parking lot either.

For the installation I pretty much went by the video instructions and was just very careful.

Ok, that explains it.
No need to worry about it here in Norway I guess 😄
