What kind of gas will you use (335i)
My owners manual states that 89 is minimum octane. Are any of you going to use less than premium? mid grade? I'm seriously considering 91 octane instead of 93.

If it says "recommended x" I'll use that one (I don't have one yet, and don't feel like reading the online manual).
My current cars use Premium (which is 91 oct here) so whatever is the recommended fuel is what I'll use. |

I think we've been through this before. The "experts" say anything over the OEM's recommended rating is a waste of money, and could potentially harm the engine over the long haul. I've yet to see any evidence that higher than recommended octane actually nets you any additional performance or mileage. I'll stick to BMW recommendations.

In Canada, I think 89 is the highest available at most stations unless you're at Shell and buy V-Power. Esso might have a 90+ at some stations....
In any case, 89 is by far most common. |

I would use 91 min! Someone should research the HP figures on each octane

The equivalent RON ratings are 91 to 98, with 95 as recommended by BMW.
I use Shell V-Power 98 RON in my E90.

It's going to be 92 for me, we can't get much else over here besides the 89 and, well, the difference of 89 and 92 is only a few dimes so who cares really

Gas here in FL is
89 - $3.95 @ 15gal = $59.25 91 - $4.09 @ 15gal = $61.35 93 - $4.19 @ 15gal = $62.85 So really there is no savings might as well just spend the extra $3 and get 93 octane
