Stopa's Build Thread - 2015 F30 335i M-Sport ::: New Wheels!

As with most things, this upgrade could have been seen from a mile away... The e92 had seen it's hay day and it was time to jump back into a 4 door. I had been looking at 435 GCs but there really was nothing in the used market that was either... a) the same/nicer spec as an f30 or b) within my budget so here we are with this bad boy.

CURRENT STATE
----------------------------
----------------------------

----------------------------
----------------------------

Specs:
2015 F30 335i
M-Sport
Aerodynamics Package (standard rear diffuser)
M Performance Carbon Fiber Mirror Covers
M Performance Side Decals
442M staggered wheels
Harman Kardon
HUD
etc. etc.

Build Plans
Exterior:
[x] M Performance Side Skirt Extensions
[x] M Performance Rear Diffuser
[ ] Rear Bumper Extensions
[ ] Painted High Kick Spoiler
[ ] Dual Slat Kidneys
[ ] Tint
[ ] Springs/Coilovers
[x] Wheels & Tires

Performance:
[x] JB+ / JB4 (still have a year of factory warranty on the car so partial to JB+ for now)
[ ] Intake
[x] Charge Pipe
[ ] Intercooler
[ ] DP
[ ] Exhaust

and more.

Picked up a set of the burnt titanium look finished BMS tips last week so I'll grab a pic or two of those shortly. I know they aren't everyone's cup of tea but I didn't want black tips and chrome ones I'm not a fan of the chrome interior "lip" kind of thing.

Overall, I think I'll be going for an OEM+ / lightly modded look in the end as I'm not trying to be a douchey boy racer any more and shake my girlfriends car on a cold start in our apt garage in the mornings.

Saying this now to get it out of the way... I'm going to wait to modify this one this time... okay now back to real life. Let the part ordering party begin!

Yesterday the factory charge pipe blew at the throttle body, just like my e92 had but this time it's completely stock so that's definitely something I was not expecting.

BUT... when I took it to the dealership to have them fix it they said it looked like it had been tampered with and that it wasn't covered under warranty anymore. total was like $1100 bucks, no thanks!

I'm fairly handy, but I don't have any sort of jack/stands/ramps to lift the car up in my apartment building garage. Has anyone seen or done a charge pipe swap just by going through the engine bay???

Might take you up on that! Saw you're having a deal on DINAN stuff. I was trying to decide on weather to go with the JB+ or the Dinantronics Sport as a good in between quick tune before going for a flash tune.

I've seen all of the JB+ vs DINAN, vs whatever else... think with the May sale you've got the DINAN would be worth it to have the bluetooth?

Hi,
it definitely makes the Dinan option more appealing

Just updating a little here...

A few recent mods:

VRSF chargepipe
JB+
M Performance rear diffuser
Debadged

Hoping this weekend to wrap the front splitter matte black and then grab some side skirt extensions to kind of tie the front end of the car together a little better.

Will definitely get some better pictures soon of everything.

As always things continue to progress. Here are some pics I snapped today heading out to my parents for the day in the DC suburbs.

Front splitter now matte black, and side skirt extensions installed.

It's bonus season for the company I work for so on Friday it's time to load up. Hopefully grabbing some wheels this week, and some carbon goodies after.

Found this guy JHP Dynamics who has soon competitively priced carbon parts. Probably going to get a spoiler and diffuser. Which at that point means I'll most likely end up getting a carbon front splitter and more.

I'll update some more with wheel pics later.

Wheels are on

Finally got a set of wheels thrown on the car. They just the ECS Alzors so not top end, but they look good and I'm not tracking the car so ?I'm not too worried about the weight right now.

I also picked up a set of Conti DWS 06's. I'm in the DC area (Northern VA) and have been running summers all year for the past couple years so I wanted to try some all-seasons and see how they handle our semi wintery winters.

---- Specs ----
19 x 8.5/9.5 et 35/40
235/35 & 275/30

They run pretty flush which I'm happy with. Thoughts?

Next steps ::: after the winter, probably going to get springs. Only looking for about an inch drop maybe inch and a half at most.

It's Been a while

Resurrecting this build thread just a bit here!

Since it's been almost two years a little update might be good.

Recent updates:
Catless Downpipe
Custom Stage 2 tune by GT Peace / Frank Smith Tuning
Dual slat kidneys
LCI Tail Lights
Carbon Fiber High Kick spoiler

And then the bad/good... had someone leave my apartment garage and scrape the front left quarter and rip the bumper off. Fast forward to today, Got the car back today and ordered some new things!

Fresh start almost so I've got a new carbon fiber diffuser and varis rep front lip coming in the next week/month.

Looking to install the lip and then wrap the bottom portion of the bumper satin black to match the m perf side decals.
