Drag tire setup

Hey guys, new to the forum but not to the car or racing.

Currently I am running a MHD stage 2 e30 tune, XHP Stage 3, Intake, Catless Downpipe and a 3" exhaust.

Currently I have been able to consistently hit 7.5's in the 1/8th but I have had to turn down my launch control torque so I am not giving a smoke show. I am currently on little 255/35/19's and pulling 1.8 60's.

My next purchase is going to be a dedicated drag wheel and tire set up because a stage 2 HPFP and a GC is in the works.

My question is a 2 part one:

A. How do you disable the low tire warning that only allows you to be in comfort mode?

B. I am going to run 17's so should I run a 275/40/17 or a 295?

Any additional advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard you can code it out but have not seen the process. I use esys.

You could re-calibrate the sensors at a lower psi or just have them removed when you have the tires changed.

You won't fit a 295 and probably won't find a properly wide 17 for it. a 17x9 with 275 is your best bet but many people run 255 and hook well. It's more about the compound than the width.

Someone on the B58 Enthusiasts Facebook group made a post about working with a coder that removed the low tire pressure error. Search the group posts or post an ISO message asking who it was.

Mine doesn't have the physical TPMS, just the rotational check. I'd assume if you code out TPMS to the "ghetto" version that I have, your problem would go away.

I'm Rear Wheel drive.

What happens if you just don't have tpms sensors in the wheels? Does it go into comfort mode or just give an error?

I can answer this. Nothing happens, you just get an error in idrive saying TPMS Malfunction, but it still allows you to go into sport/dsc off/etc. You lose the ability to see the front tires pressure as well which is dumb. But no TPMS is the way to go for drag packs because it doesn't lock you in comfort mode when you lower your tire pressure.

This is really helpful. Next spring I'll get some dedicated NT555R2s on cheap wheels and will just skip the TPMS, saves about 150 bucks too!

If you will buy a dedicated set go for the smallest diameter possible for faster acceleration.

I run 275/40/18 ET 45 on Dinan lowering springs. I think the camber is like -1.9. If you want to run 0 degree camber, then get higher offset. Also you have to code out tpms.

This is 275/40/R18 on Apex profile 3. Lowered on BC BR coils, I needed to have the fenders rolled because I was rubbing.

Hey guys since you are running 18s I wanted to ask what my best "street" tire setup I can run.

currently rn the car came with the classic 400m wheels from factory and for awhile I do not plan to get aftermarket rims. I was told I could run 265/35/18s in the rear but I want to know the maximum meatiest tires I can run for the rears and fronts without losing the performance benefits.

currently rn I am running 255/40/18s in the back I believe and 225s in the front. michelin pilot super sports.

Currently running 245/35/20 front 275/30/20 rear 12mm spacer front 15mm spacer rear, with no rubbing whatsoever. I also have the michelin pilot 4s and what an upgrade compared to those shitty pirellis.
