That won't work for Evo

They are however available online for around $25 USD

Hi Seth,
It's way too many years since I last tried to update my BMW maps, and since then, this new FSC key seems to be needed to proceed. Can you give me a clue how to work with the map file and the FSC generator .rar file that I've just downloaded? PM if you like.

I've found no links for CIC Premium 2021. Even paid sites seem to only have the 2020 as the latest.

I'm happy to be corrected if anyone can provide a link for the 2021.

Thanks so much for the link, although it seems to have gone down since. Learned a lot afterwards - successfully loaded E-Sys and Launcher PRO 2.8.2 from TokenMaster, plus his famous BFU_XODE.est file and his scathing activation code. Took me a bit of time to get my Win 10 PC to talk to the car, but succeded to down load and decode the FSC. Imagine my surprise when having uploaded the map files to the car, I did NOT need the FSC to activate or accept the upload. I simply opened the Nav system and it all worked. The 2021 update is a significant improvement over the 2019 version in many ways, so I'm a very happy camper. Thanks again, Rob

You may have had an FSC code loaded from factory, sometimes you can get away with one update, if you have the tools (which it looks like you have) try and generate a Lifetime code, then you can install every map update with the same code

I did wonder if an FSC code had been loaded by the dealer when I had them do a map upgrade as a "special" deal a couple of years ago. If so, would that mean that the FSC that's in the car now is already a Lifetime one? If not, I'm unsure of how to generate a Lifetime FSC myself. Nowhere in the process I used was any mention made of Lifetime versus OneTime codes, although I had seen references to them in other threads and posts. One snippet I picked up from elsewhere was that the last four character of a Lifetime code were AD7Q, whereas mine are AACA. Presumably you can't just substitute these characters for those in a Onetime code to convert it to Lifetime?
So what's the process to generate the Lifetime FSC - do you change the entry at the "Upgrade Index (hex/dec)" box on the E-Sys screen from 0x01 to something else like say 0x02, or is it more subtle than that. For further clues, I did inspect the FSC file, but apart from the VIN and date of manufacture data, the rest is gobbledegook.

My Lifetime code ends in AD7A so not sure how true the snippet you came across is.

You will find out the next time a map is released, you'll have to try the next map and see if it asks for a code, if it does and the one you have doesn't work your nav will stop working until you get a working code.

I found out the hard way and my relative was left with no nav for a week until I sorted it.

Thanks Rednose - seems like that post is for CIC rather than NBT, but I seem to remember Jaeger's software gave Lifetime and Onetime options. I'll check it out and report in a day or two. Brob

I was able to generate the FSC code for the 2022 maps for my car using the files auto backed up by BimmerCode.
