The other item that may be worth it to replace is Part #3. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=11_5169 When I removed that the fitting into the engine block was cracked. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-part...it/004503la01/ I replaced it with this which was a metal fitting. |

I'm currently doing auto-x with NCC, but looking to do an HPDE soon. Either at summit point or dominion.

My 2013 335i reached 71k a few weeks ago so I decided it was time for a coolant system refresh.
I replaced waterpump, thermostat, headertank cap, bleed screw and O ring. I changed the mickymouse hose, the three way waterpump hose, the radiator top hose and the expansion tank return hose. I also carried out a liquid moly coolant system flush and i reverse flushed the heater matrix with distilled vinegar and copious amounts of water. The car thanked me by giving me a post cat oxygen sensor failure! 🤣 |

Sorry to revive old threads but I just did a complete cooling system refresh on my 14 328xi at 102,000.
The old coolant from my 60k flush looked good so I opted not to replace the Radiator. Replaced water pump Thermostat Expansion tank Updated the coolant hose flange to a metal one Changed out all the hoses Swapped the front and rear diff fluids while the car was in the air The original hoses were definitely still in good condition so I wager one could let the originals ride another 50k miles. With the Texas heat and traffic I optioned to just change them all and be done with it. The clip and o-ring system on BMW hoses is so bullet proof as long as you're careful about the removal and install sequence you won't have any problems. The auto coolant bleed procedure is genius and purged all the air the first pass. Topped the coolant off, ran the procedure again and it was done.

Great job doing this!
Bentley guide does recommend to replace all hoses every 4 years as a preventative maintenance but it does feel a bit excessive. How many hoses in total did you replace and where did you order them? How long did it the whole cooling system overhaul take? |

I did the refresh the day after Christmas and it took the whole day. Getting up and down to work on the top and bottom of the engine wore me out, so I did the fill the next morning along with the bleed procedure while I was fresh.
