Films

As many of you are now aware I am a technology dinosaur

A few months ago my son set the TV up with Amazon Prime and Netflix which are good but some films don't seem to be available on these services.

Is there a service, I don't mind paying, that has every film ever made on or am I asking for the impossible?

Thanks

Nothing that completely legal unfortunately. But if you happy to bend the rules and follow loopholes aka Cummings, KODI (free) is the answer a couple good sources and you will have access to all movies that have ever been made.

I can point you in the right direction of a plex server if interested £5 a month and has all the tv shows and movies you'd want. If they don't have it up you can request them.

Thanks chaps

I would rather keep it legal if possible though please

Maybe I am being naive but I would think there would be a market for a service that you can pay individually for any film ever made, much like the Music one, Apple I think.

You used to be able to this when Love Film was still around, but it was via them sending you the DVD or Blu-ray, rather than streaming.

Amazon bought it out and then folded it a few years later once streaming took off.

A shame really, as like you, I liked being able to order pretty much anything!

You can get virtually every film ever made on Amazon Prime Video, they have the option to rent for 30 days or buy to keep, just use the search function in Prime Video app.

Prime is much better than Netflix but I find a lot of the older quirky stuff is not on there.

Give a few examples and I'll have a search for possibilities.

Hell Driver with sean connery from the late 50s was one I looked for yesterday that didn't appear on there but there have been many I couldn't find.

The original Vanishing Point with the Petrocelli actor was another one. There have been numerous ones since lockdown. Obscure films I grant you lol

Its OK id never heard of it until I subscribed to the Times and they give you enough points to rent one film a month. You often get bonus points as well.

Is this the one your looking for.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hell-Driver.../dp/B000MM0XYE

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vanishing-P.../dp/B0000695JO
Reasonably cheap if you like the movies

Just DVDs. For those obscure old films it will have to be buy on DVD i’m afraid, vanishing point 1971 is available on the illegal sources, but no legal ones, but Hell Drivers 1957 is currently available for free on USA Amazon prime, so may be here some time in the future.

One of mine too, I saw one of the actual challengers they used in a museum in the States about 10 years ago.

VP is up there with Bullitt for car action imo, God knows why it isn't on Amazon
