F36 Track Handling Package?
Apologies if this is a reposted question (I searched without finding anything relevant).
I am coming from an M235xi and considering the F36 440xi M Sport as my next one. Love my M235, but I'm needing some more room, and I really want individual leather and a HUD. I am hoping someone can share his/her experience with the Track Handling Package on this model. I understand this pack adds the Adaptive M suspension setup. Does anyone know whether this is the same suspension that is found on the M235xi? Also curious how owners have found the 440 engine generally, and whether any of those people have had the opportunity to compare it to the M235 engine. Many thanks...

I can't compare much in terms of the M235, but as far the track handling package goes...the general consensus on the boards is that its essentially the same as the non-m sport brakes. From my experience though, it's a harder and more firm bite that gives between feedback. Is it much more street applications? In my opinion, absolutely not. Will it handle track days? No. Ultimately, they're a little squeakier when the temperatures drop, but invoke more confidence both in stopping power. I've yet to warm them from pulls, etc. from high speeds, and they grab great. As for the adaptive M suspension, comfort's pretty floaty, and the sport rebound honestly feels just as jarring as when I had my G37 on stance coilovers, dropped relatively low. I like it too! Body roll isn't bad, but there present...but with the summer tires in combo with the adaptive M suspensions...you'd be surprised how well the car corners. More confidence with sharp turn ins, etc..
Hope this helps! Go for it, IMO! |
