Do these new discs look right?

I had some new discs fitted about 2 weeks ago and I'm not getting wear right to the edge. I don't remember noticing this on previous cars so was wondering if anyone can advise if this is normal (blue MSport brakes)?
Hopefully you can see what I mean on the pictures.

That's normal, the pads don't contact the rotors all the way to the edge.

Thanks Billfitz, don’t think I’ve looked that closely before but I’ve had a few problems with the garage and thought they might have done something else wrong. Thanks!

Eventually as the rotor wears you'll get a rusty ridge at the edge of the rotor. That's normal too.

Yeah, they were quite bad on the edge before with a rusty lip and that’s why they needed replacing but i thought the new pads would have run closer to the edge to try and prevent it happening again.

A rusty lip doesn't require replacing the rotors. It will come off with turning/resurfacing, which you can usually do at least once. Typically rotors will last through two sets of pads.

Many thanks for the advice. I thought the original discs could have been reused but when I got the dealer to replace the pads they made such a mess of it (looked like it was somebody’s first time playing with an angle grinder) they agreed to replace the them. The car still needs to go back due to some damage they caused when fitting the discs so I had convinced myself they may have fitted the pads wrong too, thankfully not.

+1.

I'm at 100,300 miles on my 2014 335i RWD M Sport with M Sport Brake Option to include 8+ HPDEs. Original rotors but M Sport brake pads in the winter and M3 brake pads in the summer.

No, that guy looks to be doing a better job, but now I know where my guy did his training.

Polo08816, Mine only has 25,000 miles but think it had sat for a while before I got it and did have quite a rusty lip. Was stupid of the dealer to do what they did as they had no option but to replace.
