Some help about JB4(code 213601)
Hey guys
I think JB4 keeps connected, which leads to too high sleep current of the vehicle. I got a quiescent current of 80mA-200mA at the dealership, but when I locked the car for about 1 minute, the Bluetooth was disconnected. Today I tried to remove the black ground wire of JB4, but nothing seemed to happen. It works well, Bluetooth works well, and OBD works well. I want to know the purpose of the black ground wire? jb4 is V1 board with BT and When I update the last firmware(JB4_P12_F_PWG_16_T3), I always feel the engine jitter when the accelerator is full. After loosening the accelerator, it returns to normal without any fault code. The sound comes from the right front of the vehicle. I think it may be the position of the turbocharger. In the update instructions, I noticed that the new firmware has modified the FUA, 50 is the most radical, but I saw that my FUA is 0. After several attempts, I go back to the previous firmware(N55_F_PWG_INT_15_T3). My car is 2014 F33 435I PWG (I'm sure it has a PWG), all stock,95ron gas. Another question is that I have been using map5. I don't think the improvement of map1 is obvious. Is this correct? |

Ground wires are for exactly that, grounding.
Without logs its impossible to determine if map 5 or 1 is equal or better because map 5 is an auto tuning map. It will learn higher or lower based on a number of engine factors, primarily timing. The other questions are better asked on the n54tech.com N55 support forum. |

Why would you remove the ground wire?
Did you start a thread in the support forum or general forum? If your problem is the 213601 code, that signifies battery drain. If the jb4 is installed correctly it should be powered from an accessory fuse port that powers off after 15mins when the car is shut down. Could be your battery is in its last legs or another aftermarket accessory is pulling power, like a dashcam, after shut off or jb4 is incorrectly installed. Yes the red wire needs to get its power from a empty fuse slot. Preferably on that is an accessory slot that will only be powered when you press the ignition button. Its the black box on the left side of your photo.
Re attach the ground wire to a chassis ground point. Where did you get this jb4? There should be an inline fuse along the red wire in-between the fuse box and the jb4. |
