I would like to urge you to research and attempt some of these (truly, all) DIY's...

Honestly.

Most of us are just hobby mechanics who have learned on our own vehicles. A lot of things are truly very simply done with basic hand tools and some patience.

For me, being able to DIY allows me to build a special bond with the vehicle. I know it sounds weird but its a passion and I am happy that up until today... the only people who have touched my car are BMW and myself.

Of course... in the need of a "real repair" - I will be using BMW or the best local indy I can find. But Im saving my money and having a ton of fun in the meantime by DIY'ing the easy shit.

Just a word to the wise, most of us are pretty passionate about our vehicles and enjoy maintaining and customizing them to our taste.

All that said - some people just do not have the means (no garage, etc) and that is fine.

I just moved from a house to an apartment and Ive been searching for a secluded empty lot for my next oil change

I've had 15 cars in the last 4 years, most of all heavily modded, all by me. I still do maintenance items myself because they're easy, but as far as modding I've lost interest and learned it's usually non stop headaches.

Averaging close to 4 cars a year for 4 years straight?
