The rabbit goes deep down this hole...just depends on what your ultimate goals are.
I've done a few things (see my build thread link below)...but F30_SixSpeed has a great build thread to model after... .

So yea, regarding the turbo.. isn't 1 better than 2? I'm going to do the FMIC 👈🏻 like that!? And also the cheap ass plastic CP has to go.. 👈🏻 boom, did it again.. I feel disappointed in the DINAN tuner though I expected a lot more from it. I had a JB4 in my 2010 335i I had before this car and I could definitely feel major difference and I only had that and I take on it. My husband has a fully custom Supra and we just spent around $20k on engine work.. single turbo, down pipes, exhaust, and a whole bunch of other engine parts needed to go faster.. he knows a lot about the Supra but not much with a BMW so that's why I am here today apparently sounding like a complete and clueless idiot!! 🤷🏼*♀️ I'm trying to get educated! 👩🏼*🎓

Thanks for all the info and link to the build, I guess I need to figure out now which company to go through for CP and FMIC, hopefully I can sell my DINAN tuner and then I'll try out the Bootmod3. Spanks again!

I think it was about 40%. I usually run 40-50%. Afr of 12.5 average. Ive tried afrs around high 11s but the car doesnt like it that rich. Its also 6spd for comparison. Avg ignition is 0.2. Im just waiting on meth to redyno and crank up boost and ignition.

if you dont want to go with the masses, there are other reputable tuners.
TTFS RKTunes Twisted Tuning but I think he uses MHD BPC The apps are quickers to use, and I get it...you have so much at your finger tips. First thing I would do is a charge pipe Then tune/FMIC/DP if +/-350WHP isnt enough, there is the turbo upgrade and the new fueling system.

So as tunes go, they are pretty close to each other. People who spent money on their tune will say theirs is the best and the other sucks. Its just the nature of car enthusiasts.
Me, I went MHD because I like the fact that I do not need to have internet to do a lot of the work (BM3 is cloud based with some offline functionality). I like not having to need a laptop or a wifi box. I've got a cheap Amazon Kindle and it monitors and tunes on the fly without wifi or internet. Right now MHD is solely on Android, but are looking to move into the Apple soon, per rumors. I am also biased because the MHD Stage 2+ w/ E50 on my old N54 was amazing. So far MHD on the N55 feels good as well... but I am only stage 1 at this point (car is still pretty new to me) - so lots of room for expanding. When one of the tuners (BM3 or MHD) gets some new update that changes the world, the other will have it shortly behind. BUT! Before anything, get a charge pipe. That plastic one will not hold up and I am surprised it has lasted through your Dinan tune. One last note, I would stay away from Burger's JB4. Its a piggy back tuner... which is a computer box that fools the signals going to the ECU. Biggest complaint I have heard is that there is no longer a way to hide the CEL from having a down pipe.... which any other flash tune can delete.

+1 Stay away from JB4
I'd get CTS Turbo Combo Deal Chargepipe/Downpipe + Bootmod3 through them or any other vendor of your choice. I'm biased because after hearing a lot of different brands downpipes/exhaust combo's, my particular car still sounded better to me with CTS's Downpipe when I had N55 for 2yrs. BM3 has over 10k+ members and has grown faster than MHD+JB4 combined in the last 2yrs due to their outstanding customer service and overall platform (great OTS maps, tons of flexibility that continues to being added, also First Custom Tuning Fxx Platform, works on iOS, Android, MacOS and Windows, 30 second map flash and 3mins to unlock and flash your first time are some of the things). I'm glad I went with PTF/BM3 back in Nov 2016 when it was BETA because I was able to transfer the license to my M3 this summer. I've seen it grow, change, improve in ways that I can only tell everyone it is the best money I ever spent on my car. Simple words if it wasn't for BM3 right now I would of went with another brand of car like some sort of American Muscle.

It cost $250 for the licence and $100 for one map. With this tune + FMIC + downpipe + chargepipe (for reliability) you get 430hp. |

Anyway, he's been my go-to guy for this build. They know the car you have really well, and have been honest and spot on with their recommendations. I will continue to support them as long as they continue to give honest and dedicated advice for our platform... Actually, if you look at the thread you created here, you'll see Mike at Extreme Power has already commented above. Good luck with your build! |
