b58 440i mppsk/mpe exhaust not operating normal

Hey guys I bought my 18' 440i GC brand new In December and since day one it's been great. Just recently it's lost the "cracking popping sounds". For example if I'm in sport gear 1 or 2 and I accelerate upto 2,000-4,000 RPM and release the accelerator I don't hear the exhaust fire back as it used to. I now hear more of the engine and motor running rather then the loud burble. Also, at other times it sounds like only one exhaust pipe is working.

Does anyone know what it could be?
How would I explain this to the BMW tech's as I don't want to take the car in and then find out "COULD NOT DUPLICATE".

*sorry for the lack of technical automotive terms*

I recently drove about 1200 miles in NYC stop and go traffic and also on the highway. Could that have changed things?

Sounds like an issue I had this summer(also created a thread about it). To keep a long story short my issue was that the gas pedal was pushed in a tiny bit so that fuel would always be injected even when I released the gas pedal which resulted in not giving me and pops. Also the Start/stop engine feature didnt work due to this.

Thats very interesting I will check to see if my auto start stop is working. I was reading some other threads about software issues. A few months ago my car was updated I'm wondering if that also could have caused this.

In Europe the pops and bangs have been removed from the latest versions of the software. So for those (like me) who either had the MPPSK installed in the last months/1 year or had a software update - no symphony.
But I was under the impression that process has not (yet) started in the States. It is a European legislation that drove it here.
