Im gonna start going to Charlie at Mckenna, even if it's a little bit of a drive. I got my car flagged at a dealer that I've been going to in Van Nuys for having a check engine light. Ridiculous. And about 2 months before i had that check engine light, i had a stage 1 tune that I actually removed. Now my engine compartment is full of bright orange paint on the connectors.

Which Stage 1 did you have installed? I just installed the Burgers Stage 1 on my 335 and every so often I get a check engine light. When I do a systems check, everything is fine. After I shut off the car, it goes away but a few days later will come back on briefly again. Very intermittent. I just dont want it to stay on. Did you have Burgers and was your experience similar and eventually your light stayed on?

I've taken my modded F30 to South Bay BMW many times and never had an issue. Ditto with my F10 now, though I haven't been there yet after mods, but I doubt they'd have a problem now.

That's interesting you say that because I got my 335i from there and my sales consultant told me that the dealership is not mod friendly. What SA do you suggest I work with?

I've never gone to a regular SA (had at least 3 or 4 different ones while I had my F30). However, I did notice when I took my new F10 in for service in October, the dealership appeared to have changed ownership as the sales floor was completely different and "McKenna" was plastered everywhere. Perhaps new ownership has taken a different stance on mods.

This thread couldn't have come up at a better time. I'm due for service in ~1000 miles and really don't want to have to take off my cp and dp if I don't have to. I don't mind taking off the jb4. Any insight as to which dealers are mod friendly would be greatly appreciated. I'm in West LA

Charlie@McKennaBMWService is LEGIT!! I'm scheduled for next week to get the oil leak check out. No worries about the mods, he has it covered. He also let me know that I have an extended maintenance program. I'll be getting my rear brake pads done at no charge to me and returning the pads I bought from FCP Euro. He's already saved me money!!
